Other people said it, but just to clarify: Urza had the Mightstone. The card "The Mightstone and Weakstone" is referring to two stones, not one. Urza's card shows him wielding the Mightstone, but the meld is when he gets the other, hence his eyes having both colors of the stones. It just happens that that version of Urza is shown wielding his stone, whereas the flavor of the meld is Urza getting both. Regardless, this was an awesome draft, as always!

I love the land decks. Nice call playing 19 lands. One thing you missed is tap Cradle, sac it, then bring it back for more mana.

The Might Stone and Weakstone are two pieces of one artifact that Urza and Mishra fought over and broke apart. Each had one of them and fought a war to try and get the other. Urza became a planeswalker by using the Golgothian Cylex to blow up the Phyrexianized Mishra and most of the world. In the explosion the two stones got blasted into his eye sockets and his spark ignited. So Urza the man becomes a planeswalker by fusing with the two stones.

At 12:05 , I think Crucible was still a good pick since it's redundancy for the infinite with Fastbond / Ramunap or Crucible /Zuran Orb.

Thanks for coming back brother! Your logic when drafting has always aligned with my own and I find it so relaxing. Congratulations on Algomancy! When I get out of this small bind, I'll be ordering!

@30:40 if you saced the cradle you could have played it from the graveyard, gotten another token, tapped the cradle for 6 ad got prime time. The next turn you could have played cradle 3x and made like 30 mana

The replaying forests when you could have been going "tap Gaea's cradle, sac it, replay it" to generate insane mana hurt me inside. Obviously everything else was sweet and awesome though

48:00 there was the possibility of tapping gaea's craddle, sacrificing it to orb, replaying it with ramunap, instead of requiring the fetchland. Fun games tho

Fun draft as always. I have to say though, keeping Memory Jar over Natural Order in M1G2 seemed kinda loose. Keeping natural order means you just have to draw a mana dork and you have a turn 3 worldspine wurm (which it turns out did happen, though this wasn't a hindsight thing I thought this as you made the decision). That seems much more likely to work than getting to 5 mana without any acceleration in hand. As far as that goes, fastbond was probably a mull as well. It doesn't do much if you don't have extra lands to play short of drawing courser or oracle, and even then it's still not a guarantee to do much. M1G3: You can memory jar and hope to hit zuran orb. I actually think the play was get worldspine, since then you can at least have the out of going memory jar into zuran orb and get them with the 2 turn clock again with +10 life from zuran orb. Whereas that probably doesn't work with just a 6/6 in play. M2G1: You can sac gaea's cradle and replay it twice for enough mana to play out your whole hand if you order it correctly.

I'm not talking about lore issues or anything like that. But you have two cards melding together with a total of two mightstones depicted in their arts, the final card would end up with two mightstones
@jaimesegura7318 Жыл бұрын
18:39 you could have stacked top the following way: pay 1 for top (hold priority), tap top (hold priority), pay 1 for top, then resolve, leave land land titan, draw, stack land titan top.
@thekilla1234 Жыл бұрын
This commits you to a draw blind though for no reason. Stacking tap/spin after another spin doesn't achieve anything. You can just fully resolve a spin like you normally would and then decide if you want to tap/spin after that. There is nothing particularly clever about this, it's just normal top usage.

The art for urza depicts him using the mightstone, then he gets the weakstone from mishra and they become his eyes but idk the lore that well
@CalebGannon Жыл бұрын
I'm mostly joking about the art thing. But in the picture he already has the mightstone, then melding him with the mightstone and the meekstone would yield two mightstones.
@javiertalay Жыл бұрын
@@CalebGannon no no, urza had the mightsone and mishra had the weakstone. When urza defeated mishra he got both and became a planeswalker because of the pain of killing his brother
@josephirgang6470 Жыл бұрын
Came here to basically the same thing. Fun fact, the might stone and weak stone kept the portal to phyrexia closed. Caves of koilos was the location of the portal.

Would you consider doing a trophy hunt again? Of course I understand you wanting to draft for fun and for varied content, but I really enjoyed you going for trophies fee years back, doing optimized and disciplined picks :D

I'm gonna be honest, after playing Algomancy its really hard for me to take magic serious enough to play competitively. It just feels like gambling haha, so I'll probably only be playing MTG for fun/casually. As soon as I get a digital client going for Algomancy though I'll definitely be posting competitive content of that.
