Northern NY. Here. Just got our 1st snow and broke my turn cable. Happy to have found your video. Guess it’s time to get my 1025r in the garage and get that cable changed. TY

Thank god you posted this clear, short video...saved my butt at critical time as we've been having a huge winter that won't be over for another two months

You're welcome... at least someone is getting snow. We haven't had snow since Christmas and it has since all melted.

Thanks for the vid! Got 30" of snow yesterday and broke one mid way through cleanup. This made it easy! Didn't have to go to the dealer fortunately, just went to the hardware store and got 5' of cable with a crimp on cable stop

Great short video. 2023 prices ~$22 each cable.

Just bought two cables - over 80 bucks now with Covid tax added on to everything. Now to reroute the cables. What I found is the chute freezes and will not spin and have to bang it with a shovel to loosen it up every morning when I go to blow the snow
@kimmoertolahti6254 Жыл бұрын
Well $37.07 each in Canadian funds plus our wonderful 12 percent tax for each cable. Could reuse the one but will save it as a spare now

Can you adjust it to shoot more then 90 degrees. Adjust it to shoot backwards a little

Thanks man. So, if I understand this right I just pull off that stud with vice grips or something and then thread the new cable back in thru the hole and around the pulleys to the chute right? BTW, if you work for Detroit Fire I think I know some of the guys from your prevention bureau. I’m a retired firefighter/inspector and did some State QFI training for some of the prevention bureau folks.

Ok, I re-read your reply and you did say it just pulls through the black part to the stud. Thanks a bunch for your help and prompt reply. I appreciate it.

No problem. The nut on the stud should be 13 or 14 mm. I am not on Detroit fire. I am full time on a dept. on the west side of the state.

Thanks again. I’m on the west side of the state too. Southwest end in Cass Co. I worked with a lot of departments over my 33yr. Career in the Fire Service and consulting business. Retired a year ago April. Just working my small farm now. Anyway, thanks again and stay safe.

My John Deere 47" snow blower chute stopped rotating. Any ideas how to fix this. The cable is not broken.
@Fireguy10202 жыл бұрын
Cable probably popped off the sheaves meaning the sheaves are seized up. Only way to tell is to get in there and look at what happened.
@kimmoertolahti6254 Жыл бұрын
Mine keeps freezing and won’t rotate when I first go to use it. Once I bang on it with a shovel by the base it starts to rotate and I am good for the day, until the cable broke of course

@@kimmoertolahti6254 Maybe try covering the chute when not in use. fortunately, I haven't had that happen to me.

I just broke a cable on my same blower. My JD dealer closes at noon on Saturdays. Can you tell me if that little silver stud that holds the cable onto the black bracket where the pulleys are part of the cable? Does that just pull out and you have to slide the cable thru the hole and it stops at that little stud? Or is that a small threaded nut you remove to remove the cable from the black bracket? Any help you could give me would be appreciated. If you want, I could give you my tel. No. And you could cal me to discuss? I have 17” of snow to remove and my chute won’t turn
@Fireguy10207 жыл бұрын
Ed Devarona the silver nub if you will is molded into the cable, it just pulls through the black part. The stud on the chute is just that. A stud. Only the nut comes off. Make sense?
