Instead of trying to explain to them that he was no god, I would have told them that he violated divine laws of his people. That he had no right to interfere with their development. But that we would gladly assist them in reaching for the stars. And in doing so, I would slowly ease them into realising that we, too, were just people like them.

I think the problem is that the scientist already told them that people looking like him would come. He set them up with a prophecy that he knew would come true and now they are convinced. I don't think anything would get through to them.

again, I have to mention how absolutely spot on the bgm is, in theme, volume and timing. As you know, i dont know anything about stellaris outside of your channel, and watching your vids over the last couple months and learning about the source material through you feels very similar to the feeling i had when i first read LotR and was introduced to lore and world building on the whole. its kinda exciting and enthralling. You spin a good yarn.

uh, this is following an event chain from an in-game origin and a few branching events, it seems likely that he did this by essentially playing through once and then putting his playthrough into a story format (which is fucking awesome by the way)

Man, again with MSI? I am shocked that this megacorp is even spacefaring given how ineffcient they are in both suppression and basic common sense. You would imagine that a megacore that has became a planet-sprawling corporate entity would either be so efficient to make sure that these people will stop as small incidents or they would recognize inefficiency of oppression and actually learn some damn corporate social responsibility.

@@TheRedKing I've enjoyed the game so far a good bit. Already played it 42 hours and none of it was not fun so I think it was worth it.

Not-so-fun-fact: in the ancient world, the distinction between slave and master was considered to be as fundamental a part of the natural world as that between male and female, to the point that the objective of a slave revolt was to _invert_ the current power dynamic rather than to level it.

Thinking about it, this would actually be a good way for an egalitarian Xenophile empire to seed the galaxy with weak empires that would be both ethically willing and weak enough to be integrated. Just have a bunch of ships take slaves from across the galaxy and “accidentally” crash it into an uncivilized area of the galaxy and once they’ve conquered it you swoop in and take over.
