Broken Truck - New Trailers

Time for another update on how things are doing. We've got a broken truck (or two) lying around the yard right now that needs some love and attention. But we've also got some shiny new flatbed trailers in the yard ready to go to work to replace some of the old reefer trailers!

Was sent to load a fridge at storage facility, backed on bay, worker comes out says trailer smells of fish, won't load it. Took it away, washed it, back to bay, same story, washed again, smoked it, back to bay, same story, took it away, more phone calls, more waiting. Day two, took fleet number plate off it, fitted different one, back to bay, ah that's better, loaded no problem. Fridges????? Tell me about them. Cold stores???? Tell me about them too.

Feel your pain with the food industry. The outfit I've my truck leased on van work has recently lost a lot of John Deere freight and now doing a lot in the food industry ...now dealing with the same crap , grocery warehouses ,bad attitudes of food shippers and recievers, appointments , sitting for hours. I absolutely hate it, 37 yrs at this and don't want to deal with it. Looking at going to Flat myself. Need to live more stress free...Don't mind hard work Following your progress with interest Good Luck

Thanks for the message Gary. Good luck with the flatbed change over. It’s more enjoyable. Think flatbedder will live longer. Bit of exercise instead of eating donuts while sat at a distribution center. Haha.

I hear you. It is almost a crime that when you pull into all of them now you are faced with Chester’s chicken, McDonald’s and Carl’s Jr. the good old flying j restaurant was a magnificent thing. Steaks and salad bars. Think the petro was that last of them.

The quality of the food is down..the attitudes all suck ..and it's a easy 20$ bill with out the tip to eat the junk.....had me a cup of coffee at a Denny's in kingdom City mo. Little while back...4$ freaking dollars....

Conference table to eat fried chicken at 😂, banquet table. Those are some nice trailers. If I wasn't old I might give flat bedding a shot. You left out regular business hrs to load and unload, open appt, not a 2am appt 😆. Too much BS with a reefer and the $ just ain't what it used to be.
