I'd advise using Desolate Dive more during fights. It does great damage and gives you a few frames of invincibility. Could be useful for future boss fights.

Don't worry about whether or not you are taking the "right path," since there is no right path through hallownest. The game's open-endedness and interconnected map means there are a ton of valid orders to take things in, so feel free to go wherever you feel like. Even now, there is still plenty you haven't discovered in every area, a number of combat upgrades you haven't gotten, and even a few more movement abilities that'll open up new paths, so there are plenty of valuable stuff you can find from just exploring.

12:06 quick reminder that you can dreamnail corpses like these for extra dialogue 36:38 i think one of the coolest details everyone misses is that the wings are the thing that causes the wind, now that you've consumed them the wind stopped. 1:26:03 i keep screaming at my screen because somehow she still doesn't recognize the sound of hitting a breakable wall.

The watcher knights are pretty hard, and pretty much designed to make you panic, I'm pretty sure almost everyone took a time off and went to do other stuff after fighting them the first time, one thing is that while you will have to fight all of them eventually, you never have to fight more than two at once, it is a pretty long fight, it is hard, but don't panic and things will work out... eventually.

btw that lost kin boss is one of a few "dream bosses" in the game and beating them gives you essence and some dialogue from the ghost of the boss in question.

I looked this up over the weekend, so I'm glad to already be able to use the knowledge. A viaduct is a bridge that carries a road or railroad, designed to evoke the look of an aqueduct. Whereas aqueducts carry only water. The former using "via" from the latin for "road" while the latter of course uses "aque" from the latin for "water."

I have the say, the quickness with which you understand attacks for bosses and how to dodge them is very good! As for getting lost in this game, this is intentional! Even Cornifier at the beginning says "getting lost and finding your way is a joy like no other".

For the group of rolly bosses, don't feel discouraged! Some of the best players I've seen have trouble with them til they get the patterns down! Also, make sure you REALLY check around that little chamber before the big area for those bosses... you almost found it this run, but there's a fun little secret you can discover there.. it's either in the little room or above the elevator, I can't recall which.

Emma there’s a hidden path so you can get above the watcher knight room. Then you can drop the chandler onto one of the knights reducing the amount you have to fight permanently. I also recommend doing more of those dream bosses/tree things/warrior dreams to get more essence.

Amazing job on Broken Vessel (and your first crack at Lost Kin was great, too)! Lots of folks have trouble with them, and it definitely looked like you were totally nailing the rhythm in your last couple of attempts. And you are doing a fantastic job with this playthrough! Hope you're enjoying making it. Some (completely unsolicited) tips: 1) Others have probably noted this but Desolate Dives (down + spell button) really come in handy when you're trying to avoid bullet-hell-style attacks because they give you invincibility frames. 2) I have a recollection that you switched up your controller bindings (with R1 for attacks)? That's totally great and will actually come in handy for some of the harder content later on. But I'll just note that there's a "Quick Cast" button that allows you to fire off spells more quickly. I can't remember whether or not you can rebind that to the circle button, but if you haven't already done so (and it's possible), I'd definitely recommend it.

While i watch your videos im playing a game called Factorio. Its a game about building a factory. You start out with your bare hands and a coupple of ore patches around you for recources. Then by the end of the game you will have build a large automated production chain. From raw iron ore, to iron plate, iron gear wheel, and so on until you got a space rocket.

No problemo on the updates, if you need a break you need a break. Very nicely done getting Monarch Wings! Also well done on finding out the charm that helps deal with those blasted orange balloon creatures during that boss fight. You'll want to remember that for when you face the upgraded boss version that you found. Also, finding Hornet so quickly after getting the wings: wild! I really love her battle music and her laughter, really shows that she's not truly your enemy. Don't forget to switch out the compass and gathering swarm charms when you face her since it's a straight shot from the bench to her without any enemies along the way. Also also: yay, you found Jiji! Interesting theory about what Jiji might do for you. You could test it by deliberately dying in the forgotten crossroads near the entrance then going to Jiji. If you're wrong then it's literally just a hop and a skip down to recover your shadow and geo. In any case, yays, you're back! Seems like you had a lot of fun in this one and I hope to see you enjoy more!

Everyone runs away from things in this game when they first play it. Not knowing what is going on, stumbling around into new areas and situations out of curiosity, and discovering you're under prepared and need to come back is a fundamental part of a metroidvania. To the extent that you can play an open ended game correctly, you're playing it correctly and doing a fantastic job at it. Whomever complained about you `running away' only ever ran away, never came back, and is bitter they can't complete the game. Funny fact about the rolly-polly bosses you discovered: Speed runners have an easy time with them partly because of the insane amounts of practice but also because they are purposefully playing on a patch that includes an easier version of the boss. When they play the recent patches, they are always like, "wth?? Oh yeah, they move like that in the new patches... much harder now and I have to concentrate.'

You know, I really think you need to hear that. You indeed are not as naturally skilled on that game as someone like Amber, but this doesn't matter at all. The thing is people are skilled at different things for different reasons. You, for instance, are way more aware of lore aspects than most and you seem to be getting all the lore bits the game gave you and putting them together in a fairly good way. Most people dont understand or give any attention to the lore until after they finish, but you seem totally in to it. So, I praise you for your interest and smartness in what relates to the lore, and I praise you even more for the fight and platform sections you surparsed already for they were not easy but you did it anyway.

On the question of what we're up to while watching; I am pretty familiar with the game at this point so I don't really feel like I need to watch much to know what's going on, I do find that it makes really great background noise while I'm doing my own gaming though. Today it's modded Minecraft. I'll occasionally alt+tab when it sounds like a fight is coming up or you just ran into a twist of some kind.
