Tim is an amazing person. From my viewing of lots of the Bondi Vet episodes, it is clear that he is a first class husband and father. He is wonderfully friendly, and has good relationships with everyone he meets. He is an incredible administrator - the way he runs the park, prepares for fires and floods, and the fantastic treatment and training of staff, plus his incredible contributions to snake venom production, spider venom production, and to keep species alive, such as the Tasmanian devils and different types of bats. He loves all the creatures others are afraid of, and he does it with such passion and expertise. Kudos Tim! I hope they pay you sufficient for your value, and that you will stay with the conservation efforts for the rest of your life.

Wow! I'm glad Chris informed Cujo's owners about the problem and got them to start training Cujo while he was still a puppy! I've always taught my dogs from the time they are 8 weeks old, that claw trimming is a positive experience. After just a few weeks, they are all so relaxed that they fall asleep during their pedicure. It's much harder to get an adult dog to like claw trimming, if they already see it as something terrifying.

That falcon hospital was crazy, I've always wanted to be a falconer and was even starting to study for the written apprenticeship exam, you have to make sure that you have a ton of time and training, you can't even get your license until you apprentice under a master falconer for at least up to 3 years (something like that) depending on the laws of the state your in (I'm in NYC), there's so many different types of hawks and birds of prey that each have their pro's and cons as far as trapping, training and bird survival. You also must have enough landscape to train on and a large enough aviary for them to train indoors and live- so I guess a room in Bklyn won't fit the bill! 😭🤔😆🦅

The repair of a hawk, or falcon wing feather like this goes back to the Middle Ages. However the interior strengthening was not a bamboo skewer, but a length of iron wire soaked in salt water.

@reginaromsey4 жыл бұрын
Mycel the birds molt their feathers once a year, usually spring when prey is plentiful. For the birds which are kept for falconry they may simply collect the feathers daily beneath the perches or in the aviary. Here in the US that is particularly difficult sin Raptor feathers particularly are reserved for Native American use in Ceremonies. Being caught with such feathers can mean a hearty fine and confiscation of the feathers.

@Carrieann Guerrero Well that is why I said unless barn cats.
@spectralumbra15684 жыл бұрын
@Carrieann Guerrero Not all rodents are pests and rodents provide an important food source for other animals, like birds of prey, which might go hungry if cats harm the rodent population badly enough. It's especially bad in Australia where cats are technically an invasive species and have killed a lot of local wildlife, even driving a few species to extinction. If a cat is killing mice in your own home to keep them out, that's one thing. Letting a cat outside to kill a population of wildlife that might have never interacted with you is another. Edit: Also the use of rodenticides in Australia is pretty common, so there's a pretty good chance that a cat let outside could get sick and die from eating a rodent that had ingested poison.
@Palitato4 жыл бұрын
@@spectralumbra1568 And on that subject, people also need to stop using rodenticides!! They kill owls when the owls eat the mice/rats that have been poisoned.
