The disaster curses really do be the versus battle equivalent of the six paths of pain. They serve as gateway match ups and if you can handle them it’s safe to consider you apart of the “ strongest in the verse”

Except that combat mechanics have been explored in much more detail in Naruto. We have a clear understanding how chakra and ninjutsu work, as well as Nagato's capabilities, limit, at least vague idea of chakra levels etc. In JJK, the combat mechanics are all extremely vague. Some of it is due to even the characters knowing little and exploring the origins of Jujutsu (and what "real Jujutsu" as Sukuna put is even is) is part of the story. Everything we know about curse techniques and combat mechanics in JJK is very "patchy" and vague and we don't have a clear understanding of anything really. At the same time there are also not that many characters and displays of powers (of varying degrees) as well as not that many fights. Take Jogo for example: He got stomped by Gojo, then one shot Kento, Naobito and Maki then got destroyed by Sukuna. It doesn't really tell us much. The best piece of information we have to actually gauge Jogo's strength is the fact that Kenjaku said he's strength is worth 9 fingers. But how many fingers worth of strength could the average grade 1 sorcerer even handle? Power scaling in JJK is pretty pointless. Our understanding of combat mechanics and actual power levels is way too low and there are not enough characters to begin with. It's like...you're either "Top5/10" or you are weak to average at best.

Something that irks me is that people downplay Mai's cursed technique, but we have to keep in mind that her technique uses a lot of cursed energy, and Mai has a small pool because of her connection to Maki. Keep in mind in Mai's final moments she created a sword that is a replica cursed tool which can directly attack an opponents soul. That's insane.

Yes, Mai was Grade 3. One of the lowest sorcerers, she had only above civilian levels of curse energy; there was no way for Mai to properly use her curse technique with such a low amount of curse energy because she was a twin.

But if we downplay V0 Rika to the max, we can say that she’s relative to Year 3 Gojo, since Geto specifically saw year 3 Gojo and knows all his abilities, but concludes that Rika can beat a hypothetical year 3 Gojo with 10 years of training (V0 is 10 years after hidden inventory) Year 3 Gojo > Awakened Year 2 Gojo And then, we have a Bloodlusted, Prime Toji in Shibuya being relative in speed to a 3 Finger Sukuna who was nerfed by having no heart and also holding back on top of that, while Base Yuta and Partial Rika were compared to 15 Finger Sukuna’s Shibuya feats. Which obviously means Yuta scales to 15 Finger Sukuna’s Shibuya speed scaling

Off topic here. I'm quite sure Naobito got pissed drunk because he knew he was going to croak. Out of all the Zenin, he was the only one who could speak formally to Toji. I believe Toji didn't annihilate the clan due to the following: A) Toji respected Naobito. B) Toji was thinking of Megumi's future like it was implied. C) Naobito was a grand negotiator and mediator, and kept Toji somewhat tame with promises of taking care of Megumi. And he did keep his promise; even going so far as to make Megumi the head over his own son. RIP to the man who drunkenly kept his clan alive.

Even when Awakened Dagon literally decimated a Special Grade 1 and two Grade 1 sorcerers (yes, I believe Maki is on par with a grade 1 sorcerer), the moment Jogo shows up they immediately remark that Jogo is on a different level compare to Dagon. So he can pretty much solo everybody in the story beside Special Grades.

Maki probably my favorite character in the entire series. She starts off as someone you root for because of her situation and you watch her develop into a complete annihilating machine. I wonder what role she'll play in the battle with Sakuna now that Yuta has reentered. I doubt she can do much because Yuta is stronger than her, and Sakuna is stronger than both of them combined, with Yuta probably being able to annoy him like Yuji can. Even still, Maki is the greatest. I respect her and Yuta so much for what they've accomplished.

She´s expressively being able to outmaneuver him because of her improved perception, letting her know his constant position and that of her surroundings perfectly. Wanna also mention Jogo´s domain is a volcano. And his abilities do summon magma. So his domain would just create a battle field that passively harms Maki.

Maki/toji has to consent to be in a domain, just like how she materializes in Noaya domain, so jogo domain won’t be a issue, she won’t be trapped inside For precog to work, you need to have relative speed to your preception or the ability is useless. She outpace curse Noaya in mid air with no leverage to dodge but did so anyway. We see curse noaya a few ft from maki in mid flight but she still dodged implying she’s faster then before….this is consistent for jjk characters, when they gain confidence, a rage boost or a better mindset, they physically become stronger, for example: Choso & yuji couldn’t touch noaya but when yuji left the fight to go against yuta, choso perform better cuz he didn’t like the views noaya had about brotherhood, almost hitting him with a prercing blood. Yuki lost to kenjaku cuz she didn’t have confidence in her domain despite kenjaku saying she could’ve won, yuji getting nerf watching his friends get killed by mahito until todo came with a speech, megumi getting physical stronger after having more confidence in his 10 shadows instead of just pulling maho everytime, even beating a stronger finger barrier…..We literally see maki say “i’m at my best” after removing her trauma, she definitely got faster, plus she was nerf fighting human noaya. Both can coexist, just because they explain her precog doesn’t mean she was slower then curse noaya in her 2nd awakening

Jujutsu already had me hooked from the anime adaptation alone. But after continuing on into the manga, it quickly became one of my favorite Shounen series. One of the reasons for this was how wacky the curses were, and how Toji was introduced into the story. Before this, I liked Maki a lot, but after her transformation, yeah, I had my favorite character in the series. If Toji were around, it would be a toss up between the two, but this way, Maki takes it for me easily.

I dont think Maki got faster than curse Naoya there since that wouldn't make much sense and the story doesn't depict it as such. What occurs is that Maki, due to her second awakening, can now better perceive and predict Naoya's movements. Hence why he is so frustrated because he should be speed blitzing her but since she can now perceive every aspect of the environment around her (even the souls of inanimate objects) she cannot be touched by him.

Both things can coexist. She can predict and move faster than naoya. Like maki is in the air and avoids a full speed attack from naoya in a second. If you aren't close to someone in speed you won't be able to avoid like this even if you can predict they movements. Distance matters

In the example you gave she is capable of seeing and sensing minute changes in the air allow her to dodge midair. Being able to predict something 100% would allow you to dodge i don't see how that wouldn't be the case. Maki being faster than Naoya would imply that she is capable of going Mach 3 and beyond when she is obviously not. If I know a car will hit me 10sec in advance I would be able to dodge but that does not make me faster than a car cause that would be stupid. The story outlines this fact and does not show case maki as faster than Naoya in terms of speed but that due to her second awakening (which btw doesn't effect any physical attribute she has other than her perception of the world around her) she is capable of dodging him. Maki is fast af but not faster than curse Naoya in terms of pure speed. Its flawed logic to think that.

If you avoid a attack point blank in the air you are faster than that thing. It's like six eyes that gojo have makes so time moves slower. But only because time moves slower for him doesn't mean that he isn't way faster then toji because he avoid all of his attack's point blank. Yeah true but if you try to avoid the car one second before it hits you and you succeed then yes you are relative to that car ln speed. After maki fought against the sumo dude she started to feel more free and fight more with her instincts just like toji does. So her soul stop being constrained and she got stronger

@@ktrover9261 Toji couldn't blitz a tired teen Gojo, Toji isn't blitzing the disaster curse know for his speed and destructive power. Maki is about the same as Toji. With soul splitter katana, I think Maki can typically beat Jogo, but it's ludicrous to think that Maki is beating all 4 disaster curses teaming up. Jogo blitzed a tire Nanami and tired pre-HR Maki, but not a tired and injured Naobito (fastest sorcerer other than Gojo). Toji blitzed a tired Megumi. So I think it's not unheard of to assume that Jogo and Toji/Maki are similar in speed. So with 3 teammates, Jogo and his squad should win most of the time against Maki. Just came back to this discussion a while after this video released, sorry for such a late addition to the comment.

I don’t know if I agree. I think it comes down to Toji’s poor performance against teen gojo. He had to wear Gojo down to even have a chance. And Jogo crushes teen Gojo. I think that the Jogo Hanami durability statement definitely makes all JJK scaling weird considering he took a point blank red blast. And red is stronger than blue. I just don’t think Maki can overcome all of the disaster curses together. Maybe everyone one on one. But as a group I think they beat Maki 8/10 times

Jogo is so weird to scale, he’s ridiculously strong and fast however it’s hard to determine just how strong and fast he is. Yuji scales about right above Nanami (early shibuya) and he was dodging speed of sound attacks while Nanami was perception blitzed. Maki post awakening is Mach 3 and above so Jogo should reasonably be able to tag her and his attacks are even faster, but it’s hard to determine just how much damage it would do but Maki is comfortably around Jogo’s level. Mahito is tricky as in his domain expansion, you’re literally in the palm of his hand and Maki wouldn’t be ignored most likely and purely multipliers wise, Yuji is around Mach 1 and Mahito gets 200% faster so Mach 3. So Mahito and Jogo would be able to tag Maki MOST LIKELY. So while Maki could reasonably beat all the disaster curses 1 on 1 I believe she couldn’t do it 4v1. Also would Dagon really know how fast Jogo is? I don’t think the Naoya being above Mahito scaling is Valid, as Yuji had huge rage and black flash amps against Mahito.

Also double the fact that she is faster than him (or at least equal) and that advantage only increases with her premonition to, which would allow her to avoid his attacks. When getting into max meteor, I'm pretty sure Maki would be able to avoid it pretty easily. Hell, even panda and that other grade 1 sorcerer guy were able to avoid it despite Sukuna not allowing to move for a bit. If the other curse spirits restrained Maki, they could have a chance of killing her with max meteor but i don't think her speed and premonition would allow for that.

Heavenly pacts can't be controlled, they're a circumstantial gift placed on a sorcerer randomly at birth. And the reason they don't want a non-curse user is not because of it's lack of power, but because the Zenin clan look at it through a xenophobic context. Being a "monkey", a person with no cursed energy is seen as a blight in the clan. While the pact is useful, being unable to wield your cursed energy is seen as dumb, barbaric or just useless.

Iddle Transfiguration allows Mahito to touch someone's souls by Touching that person's body, there is two souls inside the body so iddle Transfiguration touches both, it's not same as what you were describing. Now the domain and Iddle Transfiguration are two different things, Mahito didn't use iddle inside the domain but every souls inside were touched, because the domain doesn't require physical contact on someone body. Mahito although as or stronger than Jogo, his ability may not work on maki, although his final form with his black flashes I think would keep up with maki. Finally hanami and Dagon could not against her. Now, if they all go together, they destroy it in neg diff. By the way, I scale the sukuna finger declarations differently, for example, that jogo has a power comparable to 8/9 fingers. And the statements that compare the characters, for example, which jogo might be stronger than 3F sukuna. In one it is more a statement of how much cursed energy one has measured in number of fingers (this is based on Mahito affirming that sukuna had less Jogo cursed energy). The second statement refers to how they compare to sukuna directly, for example, Jogo has a cursed energy comparable to 8/9 fingers, but when it comes to using it for combat, it is not comparable to how sukuna would use that cursed energy of 8 /9 fingers, in fact it would be more comparable to a 3-fingered sukuna. Jogos raw destructive power is far above any of the other disaster curses. The only reason mahito outshines him is his better understanding of cursed energy and his technique. Also, jogo is not a glass canon. He just isn’t as tough as hanami or mahito. He’s most likely as tough as the average special grade

Because Kenjaku was lying to Jogo and Mahito was going off of the lie Kenjaku told, and the last version of Sukuna Gojo saw was 1 Finger Sukuna at the school or if you wanna be technical, 2 Finger Sukuna when Yuji ate the second finger. He never interacted with 3 Finger Sukuna, or Sukuna at all for the rest of the story There’s also 15 Finger Sukuna saying that Mahoraga would’ve had a chance against 3 Finger Sukuna but never saying that about Jogo, despite Mahoraga being far above Jogo. There’s also the Megumi scaling between Toji who’s >>> Jogo to a nerfed 3 Finger Sukuna

@@jocoolshow nowhere was it said or even implied that kenjaku was lying. The reason sukuna does not compare Jogo is because we already had been told how strong jogo was compared to sukuna. It was flat out said he WAS STRONGER than a 3 finger sukuna by gojo, and kenjaku says how strong he actually was. There was no narrative reason. And btw, jogo is stronger than mahoraga. Mahoraga is more dangerous because of his adaptability, but jogos raw destructive power gaps mahoraga massively. Sukuna actually acknowledged jogo as strong when he killed him. When sukuna killed mahoraga he just picked up his wheel and threw it like a piece of trash

Aren’t all Domain Expansions “sure hit”? Even if some don’t directly damage, you still have to participate in the domain (obviously excluding when someone overpowers a domain with their own). For example, Hiromi Higuruma’s domain doesn’t directly deal damage, however it’s still a sure hit because Yuji was forced to participate in the trial. Unless I’m misunderstanding the use of the term “sure hit”.

"Sure hit" within the context of JJK domains typically just means 'offensive attack that will always hit your target' Ones with more complex rules to play by like Hakari's and Higuruma's fit in a different category simply because they have certain requirements to fill in order to activate the domains true ability

@@BrokenRonin sure hits are found in every complete domain even harmless ones. Hakari and higuruma's domains also had surehits, in the case of hakari's domain it's the info-dump you get at the start of the domain expansion. What you are talking about is the "sure-hit sure-kill".

Jogo surviving red is actually very impressive. Toji (who has basically equal durability to maki) bled from a weaker gojo using red and Jogo survived with barerly any damage. If we use the statement about black flashes then Mahitos scaling would go even higher than that

While, I do think the disaster curses tend to be severely under ranked. Like, only one of their DE expansions was going to body a special grade 1, and others easily had it not been for a third party. A lot of the characters being compared like Maki is an absolute beast, especially if we consider that Yuji was going to body Mahito. But a factor for Mahito that people seem to forget, is that very very very few characters could actually damage the soul, and by taking that away from him would be like taking away Gino’s ultimate defense. The other thing that has to be considered is their synergy. Maki wouldn’t have this problem, but if the nature disaster, used his CE absorption during the oceans DE, you’re pretty much just fucked. As you’re going to defend yourself from the sure hit. Let’s also not forget, this was Kenjaku’s starting line up against Gojo + Everyone. While he knew they couldn’t beat Gojo, he’s just the god of the series, so even delaying him and making him think/react is a legit feat.
