Fantastic idea about helping customers preview screen sizes.

Oh yes, it's been very helpful to folks!! Diagrams only go so far.... but seeing the actual sizes and aspect ratios in-person makes all the difference!!

@Brolic Media Hey Matt……why would you not take advantage of black bar detection with MadVR for sources other than KScape? I do this with my Apple TV and Nvidia Pro and it works seamless, no need to touch your remote, everything automated It seems you’re shorting the automation by having to manually adjust masking
@BrolicBeast7 ай бұрын
Hey, so controlling the AR in today's landscape many AR's is one of things MadVR recommends in their Control4 setup documentation as well!l it's less about technical capability and more about the user experience. I've definitely used the MadVR to handle everything (disabled the Kscape programming and let the MadVR handle that as well) and I really like being able to control the masks in most scenarios. I'm more likely to encounter an uncommon AR in my non-Kaleidescape sources since I only really stream shows and not movies. There are a couple more reasons, but I definitely want to say that the MadVR black bar detection is absolutely outstanding and I use it to push scope images to the top of the screen so the MadVR can sum the black bars at the bottom and the bottom mask can roll up to mask to 2.40.

So the 100" screen looks better than 13'? It makes sense, concentrating the lights and pixels to a smaller area. 100" TV owner asking.
@BrolicBeast7 ай бұрын
Yeah it definitely does for older content. For newer 4k content (last 8 years or so) larger is a better experience!

So Matt, you masked down onto that scene because of resolution purposes? Cause I myself LOVE ME SUM immersion. I can’t fathom masking down to make that fabulous screen smaller. But also, as a caveat, grain does NOT bother me much. I’m sort of a weirdo that’s not either a grain hater, I don’t mind DNR either. I don’t consider myself much of a pixel peeper.
@BrolicBeast7 ай бұрын
Oh yes, the benefit of greater pixel density for older sources is significant!! So for that older movie, not only did I mask down but I also utilized the projector's lens memory to physically decrease the size of the projected image.

Must be a sight to see. When will the BEAST be open for demos?
@BrolicBeast7 ай бұрын
Oh hey, it's open for demos now!!! We've been open since 12/26 but have not had the grand reopening just yet since we are still working on the lighting design for the walls.
