I've loved Broly from the first time I saw him. His link to the "Legendary Super Sayjin" as Vegeta called it was certainly part of it, the idea that Broly is a sort of anomaly that pops up in the population every now and then, it is interesting. Broly's own story is also very interesting, his attempted murder as a child just because he was crazy powerful as a babe. It is unspeakably cruel. Then, the only person he could count on was his father and we know how that went, control collars and all. Broly as he was in his first video was a promising individual and one can't help but wonder if he wouldn't have been insane if he hadn't had such a challenging life. His visual design was impressive as well. But now we have Broly 2.0 If anything the tragedy element was made even greater. They downplayed his 'insane' element to make him more approachable, but I can't help but think that made him lose a bit of his appeal. On the upside, this Broly was allowed to live. I hope Super does more with his character in the future.

On my end I found that relegating his insanity to his lack of control over his very own power instead of making it him be just a murder machine because he likes it makes the DBS interpretation of Broly much more interesting. Part of why is also this idea that he "absorbed" the power of the Giant Ape form to his regular form, a power that we know drives untrained sayens to blind and animalistic violence as showed in the past. And thus, giving it to Broly and making him loose control into a similar fit but not from the Great Ape form makes it all the more interesting, meaning that inanetely he now has the power to control the Great Ape, but the second he taps into the rest of his power control goes out the window, like a dam that opens and floods an area. It contrasts with Goku and Vegeta always getting stronger but controlling themselves because they gradually attain these new heights, Broly is inantely strong, but cannot use his strength by lack of a proper training to tap and learn how to tame his own power. But that's personal, as I consider it always interesting to see characters that could be a solve it all device be also actual dangers if the switch just doesn't work. Making any and all Broly appearance forward interesting until we see him with his green aura and in full control.
