Brompton 2023 C Line colours and specifications

This year (end of 2022) there is no "Black Edition" to launch the new 2023 model year Brompton P Line folding bikes
There are 8 colours available (these same 8 are available in the Brompton Electric P Line range)
They are:
1/ Black Lacquer
2/ Cloud Blue
3/ Fire Coral
4/ Flame Lacquer
5/ Racing Green
6/ Black
7/ House Red
8/ Matcha Green - new for 2023
In 2022 the single / 1-speed P Line was discontinued
This year the Urban / 3-speed P Line is being discontinued
The Piccadilly Blue colour has also been discontinued
The bike will revert back (Urban / 6-speed only) to having a Zefal instead of Lezyne pump
All components will be black:
e.g. Handlebars, Brake Levers / shifters, Wheel rims, Spokes, Mudguards, Hinge clamps etc

I just bought a 22 model utility in racing green with silver and love its classic look. Black parts are cool but in my experience less ‘forgiving’ when it comes to scratches. I do wish I had gone for 6 gears though. 3 are fine here in the flat Netherlands but I am having so much fun I want to go further. Thanks for all the info so far.

Glad I got mine when I did. I love my Piccadilly blue, black and silver version I got this year. My pump (fitted by Brompton dealer) fell off and jammed itself between the wheel and the rear triangle on my ride home.

I like that Brompton standardized on black components. IMO these look more classy. I am sad that the Piccadilly blue is gone, it was easily my favorite color. The matcha green is nice, would love it as a C-Line Electric. Thank you for giving us this preview.

All the colours look great together but I’m a little shocked they got rid of Piccadilly blue. Makes sense to get rid of the 3 speed as it was a bit close in price to the Aline now that costs 950 I guess.

Brilliant video, but I miss my silver details. I have a 2021 orange H6LD with black fork, back triangle and stem, but silver handlebar, crank etc. Black Editions were a nice addition to the lineup, but the mentioned colour combination is still my favorite, followed by the nice Olympics Brompton.

I’m about to order my first Brompton! Selling three bikes to finance my purchase including a nearly new trek gravel bike ( riding on gravel is painful). I’m just a little confused about the best gear setup. This will be a mostly for urban use and I was looking at the 3 speed now discontinued ! Is the two speed any good? I can probably stretch to a 6.

There are some three speeds still available, but once they are gone they are home. I know we have some left. The two speed is great if you want a light bike. But it depends if you have hills on your ride. If possible I’d try to take a few out for a demo. Thanks for the question

what's best , a C line black edition explore High Gloss or a Brompton S6L black normal? both are 2022 models. Not talking about the aesthetics just commuting...thx. Would I notice much difference over time with either? Does it come down to which is prettier? Cheers.

It comes down to which is more comfortable to ride. I would really recommend taking the different handle bar types for a ride and deciding.

Racing green is the one I have. It was second hand. I bought it off a patient of my mum’s (she’s a physio). I didn’t like the colour but I bought it anyway because it was a bargain and I was trying to budget. 😂 Hopefully, my next Brompton will be blue or black. 🤞

From my (non Brompton) experience with black components, they inevitably become black&silver components as they scratch and wear. They look soooo fresh out of the box though!!!

I reckon that trend will soon die out now that summers are getting hotter. Those black parts get burning hot in the sun. I have an Electric and I can't use it during heatwaves because of this.

@@ARlELATOM Actually maintenance-wise they're really easy to keep looking good. Whenever I get a scratch I just paint over with some RAL 9005 gloss black metal paint or nail-polish and it looks good as new. If you're in the UK, Condor Cycles sells small touch-up paint bottles in all Brompton colours and they're totally accurate.

Colorful video ❗️Yes indeed Brompton has gone to the dark side. Hey how cool would a Stormtrooper themed Brompton be. All white and black would be sharp! I wonder if you could ride a bike in a Stormtrooper costume 🤔 While playing the theme music on a Bluetooth speaker😄 So does this mean my old three speed will be a collector’s item? Soon I can be the grumpy old guy saying “arg! they don’t make them like this anymore! “👨‍🦳 But I do have an actual serious question. Thanks for the great comments! What we really need is Darth Vader riding a black one and a Stormtrooper riding an A Line (they were mostly white last year we think) And of course Matcha green for Yoda! You won't be alone in missing the 3 speed (maybe they will keep it for special editions - with silver finishing ;-) ) Re: The Allmotion tyre - we "think so" but don't know anything official (in fact we have been holding off making a "Which tyres can you get for a Brompton in 2022" just in case it appeared!)

Thanks for watching and for the question The C Line Flame Lacquer and C Line Black Lacquer come with black forks / stem triangle All of the other colours come with forks / stem / rear triangle in any of the 5 colours (including the one on the main frame) So - you could have red (main frame) /red (extremities) or red/black, red/racing green, red/matcha green, red/cloud blue, red/fire coral for example All C Lines (with the exception of some special editions such as the Barbour bike) now come with all black components (headset / pentaclip / mudguards / crankset / wheels etc) I hope that helps

Most of the colours remind me of the iPhones 12, 13 or 14...except that there's no orange or flame colours for the iPhones (iPhone XR coral ?). My favourite colour for the Brompton is the Cloud Blue (and iPhone 14 in blue too!). Thanks for this video! :)

Ahh, the Lezyne pump came because of a lack of the small wire on the Titanium triangles, to hold the pump! Has this wire been re-introduced also on the titanium parts??? 🤔(I'm an owner of a Lightweight with the missing wire (For weight purposes, it was originally claimed!!! 😁)) so I have bought the new Lezyne/Brompton pump for my bike. Finn. Denmark

Thanks for watching and the comment Yes - all black components (on the C Line's at least) C Line Electrics have effectively been like this with black components and stem / forks / rear triangle for a few years The only real difference is that the stem/forks/triangle on the black editions (in recent years) were gloss - now they are matt - and you can choose the colour (so you could have flame coral main frame with a matcha green fork/stem/rear) If anything new makes its way out here - you can be sure we'll make a video on it

Brompton IS discontinuing the Andrew Ritchie designed iconic SA 3 speed. Worst decision Brompton has made to date. Goodbye to the miracle of engineering hub which worked in all weathers, day in day out, month after year after decade leaving us with no choice but to ride with finicky crashing derailleurs that require constant cleaning and adjusting. Horrible derailleur bikes - playthings for Sunday riders. Give us back our round town workhorse Brompton! 😡

I think brompton needs to do more on technology side rather side-tracking and confusing public with soft issues like color black ..not black...silver...not silver..this or that that or this....Go and do more advanced technology breakthrough etc.
