Good advice. I have had my inside pedal clip the ground. Quite alarming! Here is another tip. When leaning in a curve, and if you have to brake to avoid hitting something, use your REAR brake. This is especially important in wet conditions. If you were to lock up the front wheel in a turn, you and the bike will hit the ground in a flash.

Hi Brian Jones Yes, the front brakes are 70% more efficient than rear brakes. We have to be very gentle when using the front brake. Nice to have you on board!

Use all the track if possible, and if noone comes the other way! A racedriver, as shown, will go into the turn to flatten it, going out! And, use - both brakes, not just one, for efficient braking!!! In Denmark we have a former Churchtower (Rundetårn) and an observatory (Before the Copenhagen sky became too polluted), which is open to the public, with a spiral going up, and you soon find out to use the outside, going up! According to History The Russian Zar, Peter The Great, was taken up in a carriage with a horse in front, during a visit to Denmark! Of course they may have turned the buggy and the horse while the Zar and - King where on the patform outside, and then wanted to go down again. Finn. Denmark

Hi Finn Carl Bomholt Sørensen It must be a beautiful view. I've done a downhill in Hawaii from a fantastic telescopic station place on top of a Vulcan thar was magical. Perfect road and wide curves. Luckily, they took us up by van. Nice to have you on board!

Thanks for the tips . I guess i fell previously in oct 2022 due to turning into a curve . Thus i guess keywords are travel in a straight line when turning into a curve and SLOW DOWN

Hi Joseph D Yes, a good line on a curve is essential, and for that we need to enter on the right speed, slowing down before entering the curve helps a lot. Nice to have you on board!

Excellent advice. Two things I have learnt is to steer with the weight of my body and move the bike under me rather than trying to point the bike. The other thing is to keep my weight back on the bike when cornering. Going around corners I tend to keep my pedals level rather than raising the inside pedal -- but that is just me. I think I do it so I can take some of the weight off the seat/handlebars with equal pressure on my knees.

Hi Tim Falkiner Yes, there are three ways of positioning your body on a curve, with the bike, against the bike, or straight. On a downhill, it is always better to sit further back on the saddle. When going down hill, I also do the level pedals, sit back, hold the sadlle with my knees, and , depending on the curve, my body goes with the bike or agaist the curve. But if the curve is long, I do the lower pedal, and my body leans with the bike. Curves have so much information that it is hard to learn it at once Nice to have you on board!

Hi Seductive_Octopus Yes, I try to say the basic tips. There is a lot to learn for perfect Cornering, but I notice that a lots of riders don't know the basics. In Germany, there is a class in school to learn how to ride a bike and all the traffic rules for bikes. Some classes are conducted by the police. They come in there bikes and go for a ride with the students. So Cool! Keep Safe! Keep Riding!
