Two suggestions:- 1) It is not necessary to remove the wheel nuts completely when taking out the wheel. If they are loosened, but left on, nuts and washers stay in the right order. 2) I do not loosen the brakes, either. If the tyre will not pass through the caliper, let some air out and squeeze it through. It is easier to pump up the tyre again than to lose adjustment and then have to re-adjust brakes with the consequent wear and tear from hard metal tools.

Hi, this time I had to adjust the brakes also because of wear on the brakepads. In a later video when i changed the chain and sprokets again I let the air out of the tires to get past the brakepads.🙂

@@daniel999999999999 Yes. That's fair enough.. but clearly you understand my concerns about any *unnecessary* wear and tear on components that are safety-critical. 😀

How would you know the number of chain links you need? I have an M6L one. Thanks in advance. Great videos btw

Daniel Gunnarsson thank you. By the way, i got myself a Wippermann Connex master link so I can attach and detach the chain to clean it. Just saying you might want one. :) Great channel by the way. I seem to enjoy Sweden by the virtual tour. Cheers from London! :)

Please could you explain the purpose of loosening the indicator chain half a turn after tightening. Thanks!

Its so the indicator chain can move freely and dont jam when changing gear.

Yes. Like the drive chain itself, the gear indicator chain is flexible in only one plane. So, it has to be free to rotate within the hub, in order to self-align itself to the gear cable under the strain of operation.

Looks too complicated for me. I would need a bike shop to do those jobs.
Brompton new chain again, and adjusting the derailleur.
