‘And the sweetest thing of all is men loving men loving men loving men’ - how brave of them back in 1984. Real heroes. And no truer words sung either!😊

I remember singing this in my underpants at the top of the stairs as a fifteen year old. Unbeknownst to me my father was watching and listening. The look on his face was priceless! One of most underrated albums of the decade and certainly one of best debut albums ever.

During the 80's I struggled with my sexuality. It was a taboo subject. Was not really accepted where I lived in LIverpool. This song and album, got me thru those dark days. Today, I'm out and proud. Been with partner 25 years.

The synths and arrangement are a masterpiece on this record, and Jimmy's vocals work so well. It's just a superb bit of music. You don't even realise it's a Donna Summer cover it's so heavily reinvented and pared back. Great taste on both counts.
@Yoofaloof3 жыл бұрын
This song was written by Bronski Beat and has nothing in common to the Donna Summer song other than the title which in turn was written by Giorgio Moroder.
@thetedster78123 жыл бұрын
@@Yoofaloof that's probably why Bronski Beat list Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte on the credits as the writers on Age of Consent - just saying. A great rearrangement nigh-on reinvention though by Bronski Beat.

oh, you're right, i never noticed the donna summer influence until you pointed it out XD

@@Yoofaloof umm... well it should have been credited or it's a complete lift of Donna Summer's... Lyrics according from Donna Summer's Got those need-a-man blues I need a man so bad Got those need-a-man blues And it's driving me mad by Giorgio Moroder & Pete Bellotte Bronski credited I Feel Love, but not this, which is potentially a bit naughty.

I'm a straight older girl wirh a younger sexy guy relate to this as after 6 years, I'm still obsessed with him, and he feels the same . So many girls look at him, but he's mine. This came out when I was young . Had the album . Need to get it again. Their were .many good gay groups in this era.

I'm not gay am a straight older hot smart lady from 1968 born and can't get enough of my current slightly younger man of a few months . I rescued him off tinder before all the scammers and bitches got to him as it was only a matter of time. He is hot to me and super nice and like me very messed up from his past. But somehow we make it work and especially in the bedroom where I'm wearing him out and im 55 and he is 47. I even wore out my 31 yr old to hot and stupid ex. This man is first man to handle me as all woman in my family like this. We just all love sex. But sex is better with a caring person gay or straight it doesn't matter. I had this on tape at 19 ....one of the more controversial albums of its time along with Frankie goes to Hollywood's relax....which my late dad loved and he was straight...
