What hits me in this seen is how King completely disarms him with that compliment. Its like the most thoughtful thing anyone's said to Bronson and the way he balls his fists as if realizing it was true just tickled me.

@Home Kitchen if you think shoving your arm down an animals mouth that is designed to tear and rip not swallow whole.. While grabbing vital organs once in there isnt a viable option of defense against an aggressive creature. Youve never had a dog. what i love about this scene, is that bronson - if you had to describe him - is like the most stressful person imaginable. always looking for action, beating up unsuspecting guards and inmates. whereas the other guy is the exact opposite: hes like the most chill guy imaginable. absolutely not aggressive and no threat whatsoever. and between them stands the guard, who is neutral... he isn't even moving, just standing there holding the cup. and this left - chill, middle - neutral, right - stressful positioning is underlined by the symmetrical setup of the scene. first of all, thats brilliant. furthermore, this scene occurs at a point in the film, where bronson has made nothing but trouble. so when he walks in with the hot tea, you are sure that shit is about to get hairy soon. which surprisingly enough, it doesn't.

@Getoffmearse8 жыл бұрын
+Isidro Garcia Well he spent decades locked in a concrete room with no windows like an animal. It was even to the point where it effected his eye sight. So the worst part about how they treated him in the 70s and 80s is how he had nothing to lose at that point, so getting in fights with other guards was the closest thing for him to watching TV. I was in jail for close to two nights (which is microscopic compared to the sentences that Bronson had) and even I was already getting hostile with the guards because of that feeling of nothing to lose.
@MrFTW7338 жыл бұрын
***** what were you accused of? if you don't mind me asking.
@Getoffmearse8 жыл бұрын
Isidro Garcia I was accused of Terroristic Threatening to the third degree. Luckily they didn't officially charge me with anything in court since I had family friends in higher places, but the papers wanted something to write about literally the day they released me, so 3 different companies wrote 2 seperate paragraphs based on one source from a cop. So that shit still upsets me to this day. Anyways, point is Charles probably had all kinds of shit going on in his head. Unfortunately, fighting guards would be the least of his worries due to how the British government has seen him as a lost cause.
@Getoffmearse8 жыл бұрын
***** You're absolutely correct, speaking as someone who was arrested (even though I wasn't officially charged or sent to prison), the only thing those two nights in jail even did for me was hurt my eyes (because of the lights that get put in your face 23 hours day), and made me slightly paranoid, and more on edge towards the COs (who treated me more like shit than the actual inmates themselves ironically). Even though I was arrested for a very short period of time, I still couldn't believe how putting people in a room without a window is suppose to help protect anyone. The psychological conditions of American and Canadian prisons are fucking crazy. Yeah I agree. I'm all for the death penalty for pedophiles, serial murders and molesters. I'm not speaking on a vindictive level, but I honestly believe that convicted murderers and pedophiles should have the honor of death instead of being force-fed an already pointless life. It would be beneficial to them, the economy, and the people who were victimized by the following convicts. It doesn't do anyone any good to arrest them so that people pay their tax dollars for these people, and it especially doesn't do any good at all to release them back onto the streets without job opportunities or any decent social support systems (other than their gang affiliations...)

Bronson: I’ll beat the f*ck outta you Gay Fella: That’s heavily, and incorrectly, implying that there is any left to beat out of me.

Literally one of my favorite movies ever.

The one thing the scene captured so perfectly about Bronson is the literal fact that he was such a gentle person at times and then understandably he could be very violent when he wanted to be your money needed to be

Tom Hardy could play a 6 year old girl and I'd be convinced. I can just imagine him on Star Trek, a transporter malfunction, or some psychic alien switching souls, and now a 6 year old girl is possessed by a psychotic man, but Tom Hardy, the actor, is acting like a 6 year old has taken over his body and everyone is convinced

During our time in the Army, my brother would walk up to any shooter, tanker, MP, whatever, and spout off that guy's quote, "That's an impressive set of guns you have there. You must be handy in a brawl; bang bang... knockout.... ding ding.... Very nice" and then walk away nonchalantly, leaving me to explain to the addressee what had just occurred.

Out of the two of them, I'd choose to be the singing one waltzing in without a care in the world every time. Macho bullshit gets old and boring real fast, but I've always admired people who are always completely relaxed and content no matter when you catch them. What great lives they must lead.

Tom Hardy - best actor of his generation. Great scene. Love the fade out with Bronson bent forward in full combat preparedness looking back as Camp Superhans nonchalantly minces past him without a care in the world.
