Julidochromis transcriptus is an ornamental fish from the cichlid family that originates from Lake Tanganyika in Africa. This fish is known for its unique body pattern, resembling a zebra pattern, with black stripes blending into a bright body background. Julidochromis transcriptus is often called "dwarf Julie" because of its relatively small size compared to other Julidochromis species, usually reaching a length of around 6-8 cm when fully grown. Its small size makes it suitable for medium to small aquariums.
