I know you said you’ll talk about it in another video but can you let us know what that bedding is? Thanks!

I personally use the hover brooder (didn't even know they are called that) but.. my context is very different from yours. Here the chicks are in an insulated stone barn where the normal temp is about 15c / 59f all year. So the chicks 'collect' their warmth when they need it and do.. chick things the rest of the day. Main thing to point out; the hover brooder I use is a LED panel using only 30 watts each (for 25 chicks roughly). So if context allows, check out both options and measure temps during the season you want to grow birds in.

G'day John, I'm on an island in the Philippines and lights you use are just not available. I'm lucky to have an incandescent lamp for the heat source. What was the ambient temperature when the video was taken? My chicks are one day old. They have a 40w lamp at ground level and the night temperature will be 27°C. I've put a cover over the brooder to keep the heat in. How cold can chicks get before it's dangerous?
