brooke davis | 'someday, you'll let someone in' (WYA)

My entry for the Who You Are contest: Round 2.
So this video is basically about how someone is not able to let someone else in (nor say I love you) after being hurt by their first love. I, personally, have experienced this big time and haven’t opened my heart (or said I love you) to anyone, I even pathetically start stumbling upon my words when I try to say it. So when I saw that the current round was about ‘one scene that relates to you’, I immediately thought of this one.
Yes, very convenient that it’s Brucas right. But that’s because the reason I fell in love with Brucas is because I could relate to it so much (especially to Brooke).
To be honest, there are two different ‘storylines’ playing in my love life and the first one that I struggle the most with was 1) already done by someone else and 2) is still a little too personal to put on the internet.
A little different editing, but I really think it works actually and am actually maybe even a little proud... What do you guys think?
ALWAYS wanted to vid this song, and what better than to vid it to Brucas?

Brooke was always my favourite character she was hurt a million times by the people she loved most and yet she was strong and independent. Julian loved Brooke ALOT and Brooke loved him too but I guess Lucas was the one who owed Brooke's heart since the beginning and despite Julian she never stopped loving Lucas ❤️🙏🏽

I agree! They were both my favorite characters on their respective shows! Both were loyal to a fault, would fight tooth and nail to protect the people they love, stylish, funny, smart, and super lovable! I was a huge supporter of Blair and Chuck at first but as time goes by I like Dan for her more and more. Then again, at least they made Chuck a loyal, supporting husband and a loving father at the end and Brooke had found love in Julian.

I think Lucas should have been with Brooke and Peyton should have been with Jake. I saw it as Lucas and Peyton were total mess of a person. I think Jake and Brooke could've helped make Lucas and Peyton into better people. I did enjoy seeing Lucas and Peyton have a happy ending, but eh idk. This is all just my opinion. There's a lot of things that could be wrong with my view, but a lot of things could be right too.

I totally agree! Somehow I think the fact that Sophia and CMM divorced in real life had a lot to do with the change in chemistry. It made it all too realistic to have the character of Lucas cheat on Brooke as it allegedly happened in reality. I just wonder what would the outcome be had they stayed together until now.

While I (to some extent) agree about Lucas and Brooke, I respectfully disagree about Peyton and Jake. Yes, they had great chemistry, and maybe in a different universe, they would have been a great couple. But in the universe where Jake was responsible for his infant daughter? Not so much. Peyton was not cutout to be a teenage stepmom; she just had too much drama and unresolved issues in her life to take on such responsibility. And while I agree that Jake was the kind of person who could have potentially helped her navigate those issues, having him do that WHILST taking care of his daughter was too much; especially when he himself was just a kid at the time.

I find that so interesting because when I watched it as a teen I never truly understood Brooke. I always thought "hey there's this guy that says he loves you and he seems kind, whats so hard about getting into a serious relationship with him?" and now a few years later my heart got broken by the person I loved and trusted the most and I can *so* understand Brooke. It has such a huge impact on you, it feels like you cant or dont want to trust anyone new and are always scared that your heart gets broken at some point.

Anjali, I'm sorry but I just have to correct something here: "But a repeatedly going back to a boyfriend who cheats on you" That's completely inaccurate! Lucas cheated on her in S1 [with Peyton, and I don't see you calling LP toxic, but whatever... *neither are toxic imo, I'm diehard Brucas but eventually grew to ship LP too.] he then broke up with her without telling her about cheating. When Brooke found out, she was understandably furious! She didn't just forgive him and run right back to him, hell it took what was supposed to be a few months before they were even FRIENDS! About HALF OF S2 was spent building up that friendship, us seeing that she definitely still had feelings for him, but couldn't just let go of the pain she felt from him cheating. We ended S2 with her walking away after he declared his feelings for her, she didn't just accept him back with open arms! Then it took NINE episodes into S3 before they actually got back together! And Lucas did NOT cheat on her a 2nd time, thank you very much! Peyton kissed him in the library during the shooting BECAUSE SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS DYING! That was in no way cheating, jfc. And it was then BROOKE who broke up with Lucas because she couldn't deal with the pain and drama again after Peyton confessing her feelings... and Brucas never got back together. So you want to revise your statement about Brooke REPEATEDLY going back to Lucas? And how about the fact that PEYTON repeatedly kissed Lucas while he was in a relationship? How about her getting back with him??

If you care even a little bit about Brooke and her happiness you would not call Brucas the best OTH ship... I was a Brucas shipper when I first watched OTH but they weren't good together at all. Lucas cheated on Brooke twice with her best friend, he was never really in love like she was because he always somehow belonged to Peyton. Lucas could run away to the end of the earth, but he would always end up with Peyton, and I think Brooke realised that too in 3x22. I think that one particular scene where Brooke practically begs Lucas to let her in and need her back sums up their relationship. And remember that that was the second time Lucas cheated on her with her best friend, AFTER he promised not to kiss Peyton anymore. Brooke continuously opened herself up, she changed because of Lucas, poured her heart out, and gave herself 100% but it was never, ever reciprocated by Lucas.

I repeat Brooke loved Julian more....It was easy with Lucas to say I love you because Brooke never had a broken heart when she met Lucas, but with Julian it was someone she knew through Peyton and they all thought Julian was there for Peyton but he was actually not. Another thing it is not easy to say "I love you" to someone you truly have feelings for especially if you have been hurt before, I totally understand where Brooke was coming from. I always prefer Julian and Brooke's relationship over Peyton and Lucas's....Lucas always had to make Peyton go through a lot first with Brooke second with Lindsay....Lucas knew from the start that he wanted to be with Peyton but still he will go after a girl he knows very well is not for him, if I was Peyton I would have been tired shame..... With Brooke and Julian even in their separation time they both never dated anyone else, they were both stubborn but loved each other very much that is what I call true love always, no matter how angry you are with the person but you still know that you love him/her very much. That is what I envy, that is what I admire
