Initially, Thomas hated Brooke. By this point it made sense for him to have mixed feelings about Brooke being there. The girls, on the other hand, magically turned into teenagers under Brooke. So this thing with Steffy and the Logans kind of came out of left field.

Yeah the only reason Brooke was leaving the house at this time was because Stephanie faked a heart attack. She pretended to be on her death bed and said her last wish was for them to get married again. They did it for her. And then it was revealed that she faked the heart attack. Ridge wanted Brooke, not Taylor. In the next year, it will be revealed to Eidge that Taylor had cheated on Ridge with James Warrick during their first marriage. He finally knew what a hypocrite she was. He left her and was done!
