I teared up watching the part of you eating before your event❤ It feels so silly because that salmon bowl is SO healthy, but as someone around your age who grew up not having people actually say these things and developing an ED as a teenager, I just am so glad the younger generation has voices like yours! Love you Brooke!!!

best advice - don't hurry engagement or marriage, im in my 40s and half my friends are divorced or on their 2nd marriage. Worst thing you could possibly do is get married when someones not ready or get married to the wrong person just because of random societal pressure, it definitely can ruin your life.

There is truly no “write answer” when it comes to weddings. Everyone does things differently, everyone has different expectations & things are often a lot different now than when our parents were in the stage. As a 2024 bride & having been to a number of engagements, bridal showers & weddings this is how I approach it, engagement: something small but thoughtful, if I got flowers like you mentioned I would have been thrilled! Anything that shows you care! Bridal shower: personally I like to do the personalized gift here! Know your audience but I love gifting a necklace with their wedding date engaged! Wedding day: registry or check! I heard once when gifting a wedding present you want to do something that would cover the cost of your dinner! I thought that was eye opening & made a lot of sense!

Honestly it's so true what you said about the push for 2024 goals. Everyone goes 110% the first couple weeks and dies down shorty after the new year. Like they are 2024 goals and not just January and it's okay to eat that chicken sandwich girl! lol 🤍

Currently engaged and getting married in a month. I'm 33 and one of the last of my friends/family to get married. Gifting is my love language so I gave a ton of engagement gifts thinking that was the right thing to do, but I have received a grand total of ONE engagement gift since we got engaged a year ago. It was definitely eye opening and while I didn't give gifts expecting to receive them in return, I wish I would have known that it wasn't necessary because gift giving and traveling for weddings can definitely add up in your late 20s when it feels like you have a wedding all the time. But I agree that personalized gifts are unnecessary/clutter. I actually used to gift restaurant gift cards to my friends. My thought was it's nice to have a date night that you don't have to stress about paying for since wedding expenses are obscene. Date nights throughout my own engagement have been few & far between because we're paying for our wedding ourselves and I miss them :(

I’m 44 and got married at 39. The more time goes on I think people should wait until at least 30yo to get married. So much growth is still happening in your 20s IMO. But you’re right, everyone’s paths different.

As a 2024 bride but also someone who plans a lot of events, I would say for weddings you don’t really give a gift when someone gets engaged - just a congratulations and conversations of how it happened or if you’re with them buy a drink or something. The gifts are mainly for the events as a thank-you. So mainly: 1. If they have an engagement dinner (buy a drink or their dinner or bring a card/bottle of something); 2. Bridal Shower: a fun gift or something specific for the bride or something useful off the registry; 3. Bachelorette: Fun little something or a group gift with the other attendees! (Doesn’t have to break the bank but this is the time to celebrate your friend!) 4. Wedding: A gift off the registry. You don’t want to waste money so make sure it’s not junk or throw away cute items, but something useful and personal! (Also, I know this seems like a lot but you can do it on a budget or not at all if it's your preference. Just don't complain to your bride friends about costs - cause they're probably gifting you a lot during this time and also paying for a WEDDING!)
@Littlebluedynamite19 ай бұрын
Damn, thats a lot of events! In Poland usually we only have bachelorette party and then the wedding, i would be overwhelemed by the amount of parties if I had to have all 4 of them 😂😂 we also usually don’t have registry, for the most part people give money in an envelope which I think is more usable than gifts but to each their own 😁😁
@mayap66239 ай бұрын
@@Littlebluedynamite1 very true - it's a lot of events and overwhelming (especially for a bride, but not everyone does all 4). Money is definitely a super practical gift, but I'm a gift giver so I love the idea of a thoughtful gift that's also usable and will show the couple you put effort into thinking of them.

A lot of commercialised skin care products are just a waste of hard earned money. The golden five skin care needs that work are; 1. Black Jamaican Castor Oil 2. Red Bean Water Gel (use as a serum and moisturiser) 3. Green Plum Refreshing Toner 4. Concentrated Vitamin E cream 5. Yanagiya Hair Tonic I have combination to oily skin and have suffered from either psoriasis or dandruff for a number of years. It wasn't until I did some more research and switched to these 4 years ago that my world changed. I no longer get breakouts, no scalp issues AT ALL and my hair has never grown so fast. Not only has it grown so fast but it is so much thicker, noticeably thicker.

the Hatchet alarm rant was so REAL I hope I spelled the alarm name right it's my first time hearing the name of it but I've definitely seen it before. I agree! hate when technology companies limit AND when they purposely have older versions deplete in functionality quicker than usual because they launch a new version and WANT you to upgrade! it's all a money game I say continue to voice concerns! Constructive criticism is so valuable these days! In the age where people literally provide fake reviews! This was honest and made me want to give it a try just because of that!
