Brookfield Zoo Visit - Part1

I venture up to Illinois and visit the orangutans at Brookfield Zoo. Apologies for the high grain video. The baby girl orangutan was hidden very well by her mother. Lots of hours only to capture just a few minutes of usable footage but would do it all over again!

The. Noise is bad but as long as the animals are fed and taken care of that ok. I have seen so many videos where the animals are in horrid situations. The mother is just smiling so sweet. They look happy. Glad at night they do have peace and quiet. They are lovely

Holy Moly.....the NOISE. I hope it's quieter at night and the orangutans don't have to listen to this 24/7. I bet it's much quieter now with the lock down in place. They're probably loving life right now.

Looking at pictures and maps online of Brookfield Zoo, this seems to be an indoors enclosure, with the apes behind glass. So I imagine (hope) they hear very little of that noise from the crowds.

It's been well over 40 years since I've been to Brookfield Zoo... It was nice back then I can only imagine what it looks like now...

The background noise is horrible. These orangutans probably contend with this everyday. Is that noise level really necessary? The mother and baby are just precious.

Sandy Messer I don’t understand why zoo’s aren’t a place of quiet observations. They should have the same rules as a library. Why some people let their children act more animal than the animals is beyond me.

Some zoos have a glass barrier between the apes and humans, so it’s probably not as loud for the animals.
