Brooklyn Kayak PDL 10 Review: First Impressions

This is a review of the Brooklyn Kayak PDL 10. While I may be quite critical of many things, I still do enjoy this kayak very much, and hope it will be with me for many adventures. There is still a lot of work to make it my own.

Thanks for the video, do the fins kick up if they hit something? Also what is your height on setting on the peddles ? Thinking about getting one but I am taller 6'5'' not sure if the peddles are compatible with me.

Thanks for watching! The fins don’t kick up. They also don’t have a reverse setting. They’re basically a generation 2 mirage drive knock off based on what I have found. They do have a decent clearance though. I’ve been in some skinny water, where I wasn’t able to pedal, but was able to still paddle around with ease. Just make sure one pedal is pushed as far forward as it can go to get the fins pulled up as far as they can go. In regards to height, I’m 5’9”, 165lbs, and currently on a pedal setting of 3 out of 7 total settings. I’m not sure just how much more height that would allow for, but on 7, it is definitely way out of my height range. You might try emailing the Brooklyn team though, because they might have some height limit details. If I had anyone handy near your height right now, I’d have them test it and give you a definite answer!
