Scenes like this in the video only exist in several areas within 3 boroughs. While I'm no expert, I can say that at least 3 separate areas, one or 2 in Brooklyn, and 1 in the Bronx still exist like in this video in varying degrees. Most of NYC's hoe lanes and red light districts were eradicated by the mid-late 2000's (2009/10)

That's not to say that no gentrification is taking place in those places. It's just that those neighborhoods are the least gentrified I would say that of those I'd mentioned, they are roughly 75 - 80% the same. This scene in East New York has existed since the 90's. But it died down a lot during the pandemic. So yeah, the gentrified places have cleaned up but you definitely still have a few spots in Brooklyn that still resemble the 90's.
