That Brooks glycerin 20 I just ran a 4:01:20 marathon in them, I’m 38 years old, no pain didn’t get hurt feel great. You can actually hit a good pace in them once you get used to the type of strike you need to make

Bought the Brooks 20s 2 weeks ago and they're great. Can actually pick up the pace a bit 2. Can get 6mins miling in them no problems.

Glad to hear that Brooks finally brought in a new foam. I haven’t liked the feel of Brooks from the Ravenna 5 on up. Remember how awesome those yellow/green liquid pokets felt? I have a pair of 1080 v12 on their way right now. May give Brooks a chance again!

RC Elite is on sale now. That’s a fantastic shoe for everything now it’s better value, so comfortable and cushioned and good for faster runs/racing 👍🏻

Great review, bought the 1080V12 a few weeks ago already on sale.. Bought half a size down and the fit is great. I have wide feet and it fits OK. Very good quality running shoes.

Did you notice any issue with the two last eyelets of the v12? It seems that they are fragile .....

I usually wear 27.5 cm in other shoes and they fit a bit roomy... Unfortunately 27 cm is not available which would have been perfect. Shall I buy 26.5 or 27.5?

I also love a cushioned ride! Loving my 1080v10 currently with 350 miles on them. Have a new pair of v11 waiting

One difference between these shoes is that the heel cutaway on the NB makes it a better fit for midfoot strikers, while the Glycerin heel is more suited for heel strikers.

This is a great review. I describe similar points to customers coming into the store. But now I got more knowledge

Everyone says these are super cushioned, but I just bought the 1080v12 and they feel very stiff to me. I barely noticed a difference in softness between the 1080v12 compared to the Pegasus 39. I sort of expected the 1080s to feel like legit clouds. But, they just feel like your average shoe for $160. Keep in mind I’m a small guy.. 5’8” and 140lbs… I run 40-70mpw.

I have the run now in the v12 for about 200 miles I had a 1080 v11 over a year before that , and a saucony triumph in between . I sized down a half size and love the upper . My main concern is that I feel the 1080 v12 foam loses its rebound and life too quickly for a shoe of its cost/price point compared to competitors at similar price point.

1080 v12 offers no energy return when picking up the tempo. The upper knit makes your foot very hot.

Good review, big NB fan. They really fit well as I have a wide foot. Tried the Glycerin 19 in wide and just didn't work. Just wondering if the 20 is running any wider this year. Thanks and look forward to more great head to heads.

I just got the 20's and needed the wide size (the 19's were way too narrow for me too!) - I don't think the 20's are a ton wider than the 19's. I love my wide size though - feels great.

I agree, the 1080 v12 is noticeably less responsive than previous versions. Well built shoe, but they left out the joy. Not as fun as previous versions. I’m disappointed.

@Schooey I’d actually suggest more strength and conditioning surely?! Foot and ankle even at slow paces has to tolerate forces upwards of 5x body weight. Stretching and mobility won’t help it tolerate that stress better

Both great shoes for the wide feet crew as both brands do 2e width which is much appreciated for us!!
