Wow. These lyrics pertain to the exact feelings and emotions I am having right this moment. I remember first seeing The Growlers around 2012 at a place called the Hemlock Tavern in San Francisco with about 100 people there. We drank a lot, did a lot of coke back in those days. They’re interesting mostly fond memories but we all grow up eventually and the introspection hopefully takes over before we die. Then in 2015 at the Fun Fun Fun Festival in Austin I saw them again. Wanted to go to Beach Goth many times but never made it due to an eventual heroin addiction. I’m in rehab in the valley for the 9th time now. Dreams are rough, sleep is rough, and then this pops up. Crazy. Brooks only truly shines when Matt's involved in the writing. Comparing this with his other solo stuff, it's obvious he's stabbing in the dark without him. Brooks is a talented dude. Don't get me wrong. But he needs Matt for that magic.
