Why the child is always the excuse to still be with a man who is either mentally, physically, psychologically abusing you. Your child is enough for you to have the courage and stand up for yourself to leave the relationship. Why be with someone who doesn’t respect you. Do not allow the weakness of other people to ruin your emotional life. There is visitation rights and co - parenting, better than living together in lies, cheating, and any form of abuse. It is hard also for the children growing up to see this kind of relationship from their parents married or not. In the long run without counseling some children tend to rebel and become abuser or violent too and their reason or excuse is because they grew up seeing that from their parents.

People in this comment thread REEEEEALLY don't understand abuse. He is an abusive POS and okay, I will agree that cheating isn't necessarily the correct moral choice, HOWEVER, abuse is A LOT worse. Mental and emotional abuse wears you down until you are a shell of a person with no self-esteem whatsoever. Emotional abusers are often financial abusers who take control of their partner's finances entirely, making it almost impossible to find the means to leave, let alone support children. Victims are often trapped when children are involved too - taking kids away from their father is seen as the ultimate dog act, and unless there is proof of abuse, a mother may need to share 50/50 custody with her abuser until the child/children are 18. Emotional and mental abuse often escalates to physical, which then can lead to murder. The likelihood of a victim being murdered or stalked increases after they leave, this has been proven. "Just leave" is a shitty thing to say and cheating IS NOT WORSE or even EQUAL TO constant abuse.
