That was some quick thinking. Great story. My wife and I also got to meet them when they opened for Buddy Guy at a club called Bogarts in Cincinnati in May of 1993, the same month their first album was released. After the show, my wife wanted to see if we could get backstage. We got so far and then were stopped by security. Then I heard her say we were from the same town in Alabama as the band. I thought, "Oh no!". The guy says, "Just a second" and goes into the room with the band. He comes back out and says, "Ok". We walk in and the after-party was winding down. Hardly any food left and empty cups and bottles lying around. Damon comes over to me and says, "I hear you guys are from Alabama". I just rolled my eyes, shook my head, and nodded toward my wife (who I married later that year). He laughed and told me about the album that was just coming out. We had a great time talking to those guys. Everyone was in a good mood and very friendly. They impressed me as ambitious, professional, and very serious about their music and careers. They were all sober and clear-headed. Great experience. My wife and I have talked about it often over the years. I was glad to see they have a 30-year reunion tour planned for 2023.

Such an awesome song and band, so much of their music was good, even if they only made 3 albums. Glad to see this, and I believe the song is called "And Fools Shine On" but either way you're so lucky to have this experience.

It's a Brother Cane song from the album after SEEDS. The intro song is called "Lie in the bed I make" and it kicks ass! Thanks for watching

Thanks so much for adding this AWESOME Brother Cane video!!! And for letting me know. I loved this band so much...I wish they were still together. I've been following Damon's career since then and love the stuff he's doing with Whiskey Falls. He's such a talented musician, very underated I think! So thanks again! PEACE!!!! I will be posting some video soon of Damon with Slave to the System! Rock on brother!
