Your son at 3:25 is such a HERO. People outside of our severe asd family could never imagine how much our older NT kids have to learn about all of the "parameters" we live within on a daily basis. He just naturally gives his assessment of her transitions that day. KNOWING and caring to learn about our special needs kids is the truest act of love to me.

The stream is at 4 AM for me, I think (I'm from Spain), I would have loved to see it. You became my favourite youtuber in a matter of days, whenever you upload I stop everything that I'm doing to come see you. And I currently started to watch every video on your channel. I don't have any question, I just wanted to tell you that you are awesome. Priscilla and you do great at parenting, your kids are proof of that. Isaiah is a great person and Abbie is the cutest girl to ever exist. Thank you for your work and I hope everything goes great for your family. I just spent about fifteen minutes writing this and I hope it's not too long and it doesn't have any kind of big mistake (if it does please tell me, english is just my second language).

Hi I'm new to this channel. My son has traits of autism, high anxiety, sensory sensitivity, and low mood. It's not been long since we had this diagnosis, he's 14. He's very vocal and says what's on his mind which makes me nervous. Ur vlog' s are brilliant. Ur son is such a lovely lad. He's so good with ur daughter. My daughter is very good with my son and helps loads. We live in England. My son's junior school didn't help us very much but since starting secondary school they have helped us loads. Thank u for sharing ur life with us all. U are so lovely as a family.

I cannot believe the story you told about the young man who was arrested! I live in England and work in a college for young adults with autism and special needs, and have worked with young people in the past who have been in similar situations. The thought of them being arrested and locked up absolutely boggles my mind?! I don’t understand it at all, that’s absolutely crazy I can’t believe it would ever happen. To lock someone up who has limited capacity to understand what they have done/ why they have been arrested/ what is happening/ where they are/ what is going to happen to them etc etc is terrifying. If that had ever happened to any of the people I have supported I would have absolutely flipped! I can’t imagine what that young man and his family went through, thank goodness they’re out. Well done you for helping them so much.

I love how he got distracted by his hair, and stopped talking about the topic he was before that happened:) Love how he stopped to say 'Look how tall my hair is' I had to laugh about Asa as it's the exact same thing I do 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂💓 I don't get distracted by my hair, but I do the same thing, when I'm talking about a certain topic, then something else catches my eye, and I.end up getting completely thrown off to what I was just chatting about Haha 😂💕 Your kids looked so cute laying on the couch together under the blanket 😊❤💙💖💜💛💗💚

Can't wait for the live Q&A. I'd love to hear from Isiah! I have typical 15 and 14 yr old and Joe with autism (among other issues) age 11. Sometimes one of my typical kids does not handle being in public with his brother. He gets embarrassed by a fit and I'm left alone in the ground wrestling a 100lb man/boy. I guess I'm asking. How y'all handle the stress as a family. I had an ABA. I fired ABA. In process of getting different ABA.

It’s so sad that law enforcement doesn’t realize that children with special needs need to not put in with general population. Clayton was arrested for attacking 3 people at his care home and destroying property. Had it not been that he was thrown off post for 60 days I would have been able to bring h8m home for the week he had to wait for the last and final and best placement he was in. They ended up putting him in regular juvenile detention. It was sad going to visit him. I think that was really the only time I remember seeing him so scared. Missing my baby so much. November 29 he would be 24

Our justice system is so ridiculous. What did they gain from locking up a man with autism. I have twin sons, age 22 with autism, and this is terrifying. Once they're in the system, no one in the system cares. At. All. They treat them like animals.

That whole situation is a catch 22...let him go with leniency because he has special needs or don’t? Eeee idk. The police officer should/could have phrased it differently to not provoke the young man who was probably scared already about being out of his schedule. Granted, it’s possible he meant it as more of a joke and the young man couldn’t understand it- who knows at this point. 🤷🏼♀️ Putting him in general public lock up was not the correct way but there might not have been enough time or room to put him in an isolated area/specialty room. I’m glad the community came together and I do think the police do need more training to deal with these kinds of situations better because it easily could have escalated further. And it didn’t even need to be.

Wow I can't believe they'd throw an autistic young man into jail, like without any understanding... Really unreal to me that they couldn't of thought that one through and got with the family and worked it out. The expenses that go into having a child with needs are probably high enough, like for the police to not even have any understanding at all and to just throw him in jail (for days...). It blows my mind... There should be laws again'st that, that in itself blows my mind that there isn't. Something needs to be done about a situation like this, I'm sure it happens and it isn't fair or right. That police department should be ashamed of themselves. Hope they can look back at this entire thing and learn from it. Breaks my heart people are like this :/
@catherineritch62417 жыл бұрын
Hello Father autism getting back to my own question, I listened to your blog again about the twenty year old boy, how he ran away and spat at an officer. This gets me so angry . I had to look into this, this scared me because I too have a twenty year old. Apparently there are legal rights for these adult children, it is illegal for any child under an IEP and a Behavioral Management Plan to be treated like this. They can speak to their social worker and learn their rights and advocate.. I am shocked that the police did not dismiss this or a least give him a warning. Is n't their job *to serve and protect*???? Treiffying...
