Thanks for explaining the importance of using the correct feet. I just tried sewing a decorative stitch with a walking foot and needless to say, it didn't work.

Thank you for your comments. Using a walking foot with some decorative stitches can work but not all of them.

For the test page, did you appliqué on paper?

We used fabric and stabilizer. Testing should be done on fabrics and stabilizers using the the threads similar to what you intend to use for the final product

If your machine has the laser guide it would be an awesome way to keep on the straight edge
