How to clean printheads?, had not used it for long time, was overseas, now I go to use it and put new cartridges but horrible printing

I have the same...the challenge is no refill. We have to buy the replacement cartridges which is pricey :( I wish I bought different model Bought December 2021 , now its April 2022 and needing yellow and black ink.

Hmmm why were the ink cartridges empty? how do you fill them? do you buy new cartridges or is it an ink tank type?

You have to buy new ink cartridges if they are empty.

I bought this printer last late winter spring knowing I was needing a new printer. I hooked it up last night. I should have known something was wrong because there was lots of ink in the black but the colored one had only a half inch or so. I thought some of it was hidden someplace. I just printed 140 copies with a 3x4" colored picture and some test and the color is over half gone. too late to take it back. Brother needs to make sure the ink doesn't dry up or evaporate. I'll not buy another Brother.....back to Canon.

I have a Canon PIXMA G6020 AIO printer. I have cursed it every day since the day I purchased it. It has the worst software support of any printer I have ever owned. Even their MS Windows software sucks. I will never buy another product with Canon's name on it.

Why do you think that everyone has an Apple phone? Most people use real computers (preferably with a Linux OS). Brother's manual fails to mention Linux as a supported OS but Brother has drivers for Linux that can be downloaded. Per Brother's specification the print resolution is "Up to 1200 × 6000 dpi (Windows only)". They do not give a spec for Mac or Linux or a silly smart-phone. Per Brother's specification the scan resolution is "Up to 1200 × 2400 dpi (optical)" and up to 19200 × 19200 dpi (interpolated) but the latter is dependent on the software of the connected device.
