Worked for my dcp j4110dw, cheers. Fyi this was after I washed out & dried the ink absorber. Too tight to pay £15 for a new one! (the printer with inks only cost me a fiver!) Now just need to sort out the tray feed; seems to jam rather too often. Though it isn't particularly important to me, as I bought it specifically for low volume A3 printing; lasers do all the A4 work.

Hi, try this: 1) Home Button 5 seconds 2) Press 4th empty bar 5 seconds 3) Type in *2864 (if error 46 appears dont worry just go ahead) 4) Type in 80 5) Search for "Purge" 6) Type in 2783 7) Type in 80 8) Search for "Purge" 9) Type in 2780 10) Type in 99 If it doesn´t work in first attempt try multiple times. If this doesn´t work take energy cable off and Press Home Button. Then, while pressing Home button, inject energy cable again. Try the 10 Steps again!

My purge counter goes to 0 but after resetting the mfp "ink absrober almost full" message is still present. Any suggestions? Do i have to replace the absorber it self or resetting the counter should be enough?

I have a MFC-J4710DW and it has been complaining about almost full for months but it would still print. Finally today it says it is full, and of course, as with low ink and imaginary paper jams, the machine decides what to do and to H with us, it assumes we don't know anything - so it won't print at all now. I would be happy to get back to where it just complains but then it goes ahead and prints. It would be nice if it would quit complaining about that, and forever telling us that it is low on ink (I do not print a lot, so it is generally a long time between the first complaint that an ink ctg is low, and the final shutdown, so most of the time it is complaining about at least one) but if it just would not quit printing I can sort of live with the complaints. Anybody have any ideas for how to tell it to shut up?
