I have this machine. I received it for Christmas when I was 16. I am now 72😂. The top door is for decorative cams. The best sewing machine I have ever owned!

Nice machine , love vintage , own 6 vintage 50s machines now , as soon as you get one it becomes addicting , when you get such a quality machine for so little its hard not to become addicted . My collection , Necchi BU , singer 404 slant , singer fashion mate 237 , viking 564 , white 626 , and my most recent an arrow automatic not shur the model # yet still in its box ready for a oiling ..

I just recently bought a vintage Brother sewing machine at a thrift store for $18. I couldn't believe it was so cheap. It was dirty and needed a belt, but turning the handwheel it works. I can't wait to use it.

terri e that's a good find. I'm hoping to find one soon. I just bought a Valiant 920 with cabinet from a dealer but it wasn't cheap. Had to take it back to check motor out. It was sparking & smoking. Really sad because it's is in good condition, runs so smooth. I will have it fixed. I played with it for 30 minutes before noticing a problem. But fell in love with it the minute I sewed my first stitch.

Regular non-abrasive cleaner and a soft pad

No i do not there is a group on Facebook and I'll see if I can find a simple PDF manual for a similar model and I'll share that I'll let you know

Don't run the machine without fabric under the foot. The feed teeth will eat into the bare chromium metal on the underside of the foot.

Doneisha J. Have buy the manual and check eBay for parts I don't really know that much i know mine is working I'm still trying to find a manual replace the belt with a more durable long-term solution replace the bulb with led it's a screw type reinforce the case possibly repaint the storage case
