Brother | Sister
If I’ve learned one thing in this life as a parent, it is that the phases our kids go through are so fleeting. Yes, some phases are tougher then others and we are ready to move on to the next, but the vast majority we find ourselves realizing it has gone too soon.
Just a few short weeks ago we realized that when putting Laila down for her nap, Oliver insisted on reading her her story, Wild. This has been her favorite book since she was just a few months old, and while Oliver didn’t often get this particular book read to him specifically, he was listening. And he memorized the words and what pictures they went with. And when he was ready the first thing he wanted to do was read it to his sister. And that’s what he did. Everyday.
For us, this phase was definitely one of the more special ones we’ve encountered. If we’re doing anything right, I’m sure there will be more like this, but seeing Oliver learn something so big and use it to bring joy to his sister is something I never want to forget. A phase I never want to end.
We made this video to try our best to capture this very special time in all of our lives, and at the very least help us remember it.
