История Тараэля это та история которая полна боли, гнева и главное что рвет душу это сожаления в конце его осознания того что то чего он хотел было у него в руках но оно просто испарилось, стало прахом. Его сожаления в конце... в этот момент у меня в горле встал ком когда он держал Лето на руках плача, понимая сколько всего он натворил его идеально раскрыли и вы в этом очень помогли. I think a film wouldn't be able to capture the weight of the decisions your character has to make. It's one thing to watch someone else commit horrible crimes for the sake of loyalty... It's another to be the one doing it yourself, especially when things don't turn out the way you want.

I fear much of the meta commentary, like the fact that you, the player, gets goaded into messing up by being told you are special by the nice NPCs and that you will fail by your villains, would be completely lost in a movie, or at least hard to translate.

Three years later, but why not. On top of everything that previous commenters said, a movie wouldn't give the same level of sass when dealing with players'(/watchers') minds. Just like your character, you the player deem yourself above everyone and everything around you. Because you're a person and not a piece of programming code. But, just like your character, you are fooled by your own pride and wishful thinking, destined to be a pawn in the developers' grand scheme 🙃 I was mesmerized by the postponed and kind of unforeseeable consequence of my decision about Kalian. It's such an obvious trap for a player specifically. If you don't like Tharael, you probably wouldn't mind him dying, so it doesn't matter, but if you do like him, as a player, you are tempted to get those sweet relationship points, or at least keep yourself from loosing them. So you're tempted to encourage Kalian's murder, you may even see how much the other option sours your relationship with Tharael and reload to choose differently. But then, the whoooole questline later, you suddenly find out that you cannot cheat your moral compass and get everything you want-those precious points you fussed over are now lying on cold ice along with Tharael's body. There are so many little things like this. Enderal always finds its way to mess with players of all kinds. No other medium can do that to such degree.

When i played thru this quest line i got the "bad ending" but to me it felt as if it was the right one. Tharael was a broken man, who succumbed to the dark side of his mind. terribly tragic. the reoccurring motifs or tune in the music was something that will live rent free in my head for years to come.

This game and its music touched me really deep inside. I never had such strong emotions while playing a game. They should build a company and make more games like this, they would be very succesful I think. Because this game has soul and many of today's games lack soul.

Let's be real that questline, was like an entire game for itself. The ending blew my mind away. Another thing I want to add is how Marvin Kopp the composer of those beautiful pieces tried some voice actin for fun, and the team was so compelled that they decided to let him do the voice of Brother Wrath in German. Which is such an insane fun fact. I love this game and what these people have created.

the great thing about that is, that even the lyrics at that point resonate with the finale, both with Tharael and the father. That makes it so much more powerfull. Though it works a little bit better in the german version.

I mean there is a reason brother wrath is related to the night of the raven song. So the lyrics would be probably very similar. The song is foreshadowing a lot of tharaels character ^^

I lost it when tharael killed Zar'ah she convinced me she would have a story of her own because of her backstory so when tharael killed her I swear to god I considered joining father against him but I didn't because I wanted tharael to continue living and feel the pain of every thing he has done...and after he jumped he made me so mad but in the same time it made me feel relieved seeing he couldn't bear the pain of every wrong he has done was enough gift to satisfy me

It was the only way to get through though. That door or whatever it was needed a blood sacrifice. I made a talisman out Zarah and kept her around. Thareal made the tough choices that we couldn't. And some murdering mercenary that he knows nothing about (neither do we frankly) wouldn't have stopped him.

(Spoilers for Tharaêl's quest line and main quest ending!) - - - When I first played the new quests, I was a yes-man and as a result I got the ending where Tharaêl jumps off at the end... My heart sank, I got so sad I stopped playing for two weeks, and then I reloaded on old save to make a different choice and save his life, even though it cost me quite a lot of progress. When he moved in, I decorated the house a lot nicer than it was before so that he would enjoy his stay, and I didn't finish the main quests in that play through so that I wouldn't have to see him die to the Cleansing... Man, the emotional impact Enderal had on me is insane, and I'm really thankful for it.

Oh, this sounds so familiar... The first time I played that game, I wanted to make Tarael like me more, and I ended up paying for it cruelly. At one point, I knew where this was going, and I just kept saying, "No, no, you won't do that..." and when he suddenly stepped back and started to fall, I involuntarily even jerked toward the monitor. Stupid, I know, it's on the other side, but I think it shows perfectly how well this story is written, that even with that realization, you still instinctively jerk forward to save the character. For a second, but you forget it's there and you never reach out to grab his hand... I remember after that finale, I put that soundtrack on repeat and then spent the next two hours just mindlessly slaying all the critters around, my soul was devastated and my heart was broken, and I went crying into my pillow afterwards :D It's been a long time since I got so emotional... Then I downloaded the early save that I had made beforehand, because I suspected then that this decision would affect the ending and I was deliberately going for a bad ending... I just wasn't expecting it to be that devastating. I basically just started Enderal and didn't realize what kind of world I was in. When Tarael survived the finale and came to my house, which before he came it was just a bare box and chest, I immediately started furnishing it and even looking for mods to make the furnishings and lighting in it more comfortable. I wanted him to be more comfortable... However, the worst part is that as I was going through the game, I realized that the ending with Tarael's death was better in a way. It hits the emotions much harder and fits the world of the game and its mood better. And everyone dies at the end anyway... and I so wanted to give him a chance at a new life.

I choose Father's side in that fight When I stabbed Tharael with zwiehander I wispered "You're just a broken toy, Tharael!" Why? Because I wanted to be accepted into Rhalata, I wanted a badass villain name Brother Shame I betrayed him for nothing. Didn't finish the game that time. Shame on me
