The older brother didn't exist. He imagined him. That imaginary brother gave him courage, to do what he never thought he could.

love this song. Tyler wrote this song after his niece was born and said he was feeling super proud and protective of his family. the verse about people 'posting up at the end of your driveway' was inspired by his cousins where one of them run off his mouth and got in trouble and his brother knew karate and protected him. Tyler said he has soft hands and thought he'd need a bat to defend his family 😂

This song is SO amazing; Tyler Joseph really does write some of the deepest, most gut-wrenching poetry you'll ever hear, and set it to some insanely catchy music! The lore is incredible, but don't worry; There are plenty of amazing tracks that don't involve lore at all, and you definitely don't have to know all of it, to enjoy the craftsmanship of the music for what it is! ❤️

Tyler would never support someone taking their life, but he’s written plenty about being with friends when they’re faced with self-destructive thoughts. The band’s main message is Stay Alive! Amended: He does have that line there, “I’ll pull my pin and go with you,” but that means he’ll stick by to the very end. Appreciating your journey!

I'm pretty sure you know about the 'Clique ' If you want to understand what we feel at a TØP show, you should definitely react to "Trees/speech" live at Fox Theater It's the first song Tyler wrote when he was 17 and they close every show with this song. For me and a lot of people, this song is a celebration of life ❤️

They also made a video called "I Am Clancy" they put out before this last album that helps explain the lore up til Clancy - be something good for you guys to watch on your time to catch up before you go through all the videos ...only a 4 min video where Tyler summarizes everything

*YOU DESCRIBED IT PERFECTLY. This band is so misunderstood. Like u said, people think always this is that catchy poppy radio band, cuz of Stressed Out, Ride, etc. Thats the thing, it sucks that those songs kinda overshadows all their craft. I know it for a fact. Ive been following many many music artists for like 10 or more years constantly and twenty one pilots is probably the best band. The album Trench might be one of the best albums ive ever listend to. And lead singer Tyler Joseph. He is extremely UNDERRATED as an individual, people might know twenty one pilots but when theyve been asked who is Tyler Joseph? Not so much. THAT GUY IS MUSICAL PRODIGY !!! Just check out other videos how he creates his music and lyrics..damn

The big bro was imaginary. At the end, we see that the guy overcomes his need for having this stronger persona to fall back on. It took him standing up for himself in the most fundamental way possible. I'm all in for the TOP journey, you guys will enjoy it. I cannot wait.

Ahhh, twenty one pilots are soooo good. Every song is different. Tyler does whatever the heck he wants. They have creative control over everything. Tyler can certainly crank out some radio hits, but they could be so much bigger than they are. Tyler just isn’t about that life. 😂 He just cranks out music in Ohio by himself.
