did this in a lot of my campaigns, the first ship of every class was safely stored away in one of my ports as a museum piece (would still upgrade though as a sort of last ditch emergency fleet)^^

@@mariushorn8730 I normally do it with ships that I on foreign stations as it's in their history it was only because they weren't with the main bunch that were scrapped that they lived to become a museum. Kinda like how Belfast survived long enough to be the most intact of the last 2 British light cruisers that she would be chosen for preservation.

@@Silentservice77 yeah, from an historic standpoint that makes absolutely sense, but I'm doing it for the lulz basically, it's ridicolous what monstrositys early hulls can become when you upgrade them^^ I once had a Battleship 1 or 2 hull doing almost 30 knots, acting basically like an cruiser. Can't remember which patch version that was though :D

Well, the Dutch Navy may not amount to much, but it should suffice as things are in the first few years. Lie low, grow slow, and beforethey knew it, you now wield a formidable main battle line of decent modern warships to protect and enforce your interests, maybe recapture former Dutch colonies long lost, and reassert dominance along the trade routes of the long defunct Dutch East India Company.

About the funnels, I'm thinking of splicing the different classes out so we won't have any weird mixes like cl and BB or something else But the first priority are the gun models so prepare to wait a little for it

Since there is already one resource in the game, which is oil. Do you think it would be possible to add others like coal and iron for example, giving it's owners boni for construction or coal fired engines ? Not expecting Victoria 2 levels of economy but maybe something really simple.

I think it would be nice to have sort of a “split fleet” doctrine! One set of designs (of possibly all classes except maybe BCs) is purely for defense of the homeland and the colonies, being low range, high beam, low draft, armor focused ships. This would be complimented by a set of designs (of all classes) that is purely designed around range, speed, firepower, etc. as an attack fleet :)

These will be the heaviest ships of the fleet for now as we expand our slipways, designed for defense in the North Sea. Huzzah (the peasants rejoice)! Same Day Campaign Release!!! Pretty Satisfying Campaign Beginning BrotherMunro! I like your choices of cruiser numbers (& their geographic coverage areas to start the campaign) I suspect the Congo (& Southern Africa) is going to be VITAL to hold as both a Convoy Escort/ Raiding Base & Refueling/ Repairing stop for your Capital Fleets. At least till you gain other toeholds to the East Indies. At least w/ your barge design philosophy, you'll never have a Control Tower too wide (or a Turret too big) to place. Furthermore, unlike your French neighbors, you be designing to hold fast & fight, over "bravely" running away. 😉

Really like The Great Game, always felt UAD should of gone for a bit more Alt-Historic stuff. Had an Idea, how hard would it be to remake The Mughal Empire, or a version of it in UAD? Britain is very OP in UAD (yes I know thats to be expected). Creating a super Mughal Empire I think would help some with that along with adding a very interesting new faction. Just a thought I had, anhow love your stuff BM! keep up the great work!

Rotterdam isn't a major port for the Dutch Navy. They currently and historically operated out of Den Helder, with Amsterdam being their largest secondary operating base. Rotterdam is a smaller secondary base.

I’ve a few but the basics are just making the game better by removing under developed mechanics (like submarines) and fixing others (like penetration). DIP development will continue even though the game is officially no longer being worked on

Could a Jeune Ecole type fleet work in this game? So a lot of torpedo boats for home and local defence and cruisers to do raiding? Or would it end up with you getting smacked by battleships eventually?

Could've reduced how much torpedoes the CLs carry. Probably could have kept the 4in belt, and you still have a few torpedoes for reload due to having tubes on every slot that wouldn't be used.

I wonder if you could fix the ludicrously big mark 2 2-5in gun models for nations like china because it becomes impossible to design a viable light cruiser past like 1895; the guns can't fit into the little sponsons and you can't put multiple side mounts on the bow and stern. I think swapping it for the shielded pedestal mount or letting them keep the mark one models would make a playthrough much more viable. Cheers

Clearly the heart of any dutch campaign must be insecurity about how flat the country is resulting in every ship being build with the maximum achievable degree of superduperfiring. More metacentric height is more better.

What, do you at same time expect enemies with deep draft have any trouble attacking Netherlands? Nope, they will have no penalties, so "own" limitation is pretty artificial :(
