yahhh there wasn't a huge reason why they stopped talking, they just really drifted apart. But there was one that made them sort of distant at first, apparently one time when the older bro was in middle school, he accidentally took these jellies the younger bro wanted to eat. He got really mad and sent a text of swear words to the older bro and older bro got mad. Originally he wanted to beat him up, but told on him instead to the mom. Because of this, the younger bro felt somewhat betrayed and thought they would have resolved it if the older bro had fought with him and let out his feelings.

Audy Bear I concur with all the comments but I have 2 sisters and I'm in the middle. When I was little I basically had a one sided love with/for my older sister as we got older our relationship was horrible we would fight a lot and weren't close. We didn't spend very much time together and had a terrible relationship, the only thing that seemed to improve our relationship was when my sister went off to college. However the relationship between me and my younger sister is amazing, she is my best friend in the world and we fight all the time most of our fights are play fights but even when we have a real fight we tend to settle it quickly. I think one of the keys to a good relationship between siblings is a feeling of camaraderie which having a common enemy of a sibling or parent to conspire against can provide.

Audy Bear I think that one of the biggest problems in their relationship from the little brothers perspective was that he felt betrayed. He already felt betrayed by his parents because of the difference in the way he was treated by his mom, and then when his brother told on him he felt betrayed by the person that mattered the most

CoartneyGrace excatly! I totally agree , The younger brother were discriminated by the mother and his only brother didn't care about him. Basically, bonds between siblings shouldn't be weaker than bonds between parent/children. Otherwise it creates discrimination.

Its not too strange. I have a similar relationship with my brother. We are four years apart and we would always fight when were kids. He would always be embarrassed by me and bully me (Thats just from my perspective I'm sure I was a little rascal when I was a kid) He hit puberty first and we just grew further apart. He would go skate after school or have soccer practice, so I wouldn't see him at home too much. I was always afraid of bothering him, so I would stay in my room when he was home. He joined the military and I've only seen him when he come home for a few months, we didn't talk much then either. I don't have his phone number or any of his social Media. My sister does, so any updates I get about him come from her. I'm not really bothered by it though. We've lived apart for a few years now, I don't really care about what goes on in his life....I mean if he were to die that would be bad, but other than I'm not interested.

To speak about the subject, actually i have a similar relation with my sister. She has 23 years old and i have 19 years old. We don't talk at all,, the only times we talk to each other is only to argue. I always go through my mother to tell her things cause when we are alone is very awkward between us. I feel like I'm hurting my mother by doing this. Most of the time she is sad because of this situation. I feel so bad for her, but we can't stand each other, maybe this is horrible to say that but i don't feel good when i am with her :(

Son Crow@ It's a long story to be sincere. It began with insults on the physical, at that time, I was very fragile and insecure of me. She insulted me as the people were doing at school. And i idid some big depression afterwards, now i'm better. But these scars will remain in me forever, I lost a lot of self-confidence. Growing up that way, developing like that, it's not great psychologically. Plus other things. Of course the two of us are in the wrong. Since it's been a story who remains it's kind of difficult to forget everything and just move forward. Actually i'm kind of sad about this situation too, i'm tired of this.

Am I the only one who doesn't find this strange? Some siblings are close and others are not. Me and my younger brothers are REALLY close but I am not close at all with my older brother. If I didn't make an effort, we wouldn't be talking at all. Of course our relationship is not as bad as this one because we can actually converse when we're in the same place but still I can understand these two brother's awkwardness with each other.

My sister and I didn't talk to each other for nearly seven years for no reason. Sometimes these things just happen without us really meaning to. I didn't think it was strange until last year, I studied in a boarding school and my friends found the situation astounding, so I tried talking to her. Now, we text each other on a daily basis (she's in college) I think the reason we fell apart even though we were inseparable as kids, was because I stayed in boarding for a long time, and when I left in 6th grade (I'm in my senior year in Hs now) the bond was no longer there. I'm glad that I took the initiative to speak to her, I realised she's a very funny person

As we are growing older, im turning 20 and he's 22, it becomes more awkward. we do talk, but only important stuffs (when my mom ask me to call him, when i need him to buy house things, that kind of important) we never joke around as how other siblings are. I envy other siblings' relationship. Can you imagine we dont even talk along 8-hrs journey in the car? They were asked about their daily life and "what if this happen to him" but never asked for the actual reason why they weren't talking to each other anymore. tbh im having the same problem as them. i didnt talk to my younger sis for 4 years. even my cousins & friends asked me “why u guys never talked to each other” and i only can say “ask my younger sis”. it’s actually awkward when im with her. we never sit next to each other. as the older brother said, “it’s more awkward than the strangers”. i know what i am doing rn is wrong but finally this year, there’s actually have improvements. now we just rarely talk to each other. i admit, sometimes i do miss talking to my younger sis like we used to. but she just doesnt want to talk to me. unless it’s urgent or she couldn’t find her stuffs.

Me and my older brother don't talk to eachother. I'm a teenager and he's 18 so we live under the same roof but we are like strangers. I even get mum to relay messages to him sometimes like these guys... It started 4/5? years ago, he became a teenager and always stayed in his room (or would be out all night with his friends). I used to hang out and watch him play video games but he started to ignore me. My mental health was bad so then i would stay in my own room all the time too, and we just grew apart. It took me years to realise how strange it was, because my family has never really been normal, i didnt notice. We talk maybe twice a year only if we really have to. I miss my brother. We used to be rlly close. But whatever, I'm relieved to see that others have the same situation.

It is like me and my older brother.3 months ago he was angry at me because I said "Fucking boring ".He said it is disrespect to him.I explained him here "Fucking" mean very.But he don't accept it.And till now we don't talk.I tried to talk to him cause he is my only brother. I tried to make funny things to make him laugh and try to talk to him but he just don't care.I send him message but he just read.And the bad thing is we don't live tgt.I really want to make up with him but he don't care at all.I also feel bad for my mom.

This was with me and my sister, because of an argument we had we didn't talk for a whole year. It was really awkward and whenever I saw her I got really angry because I hated her. I knew that she really wanted to talk to me like we used to normally do but she had her pride to stick it out longer and hope I was the one who'd ask for forgiveness. Eventually she couldn't handle it and so was really nice to me and kept trying to speak to me. I was like "okay whatever at least she isn't being dishonest about her feelings now" and we talk now. She makes sure she doesn't disagree with me because she doesn't want us to fall out again lol. She's extroverted and I'm introverted so I don't care if we don't talk or if she hates me. This story was pretty relatable and I can understand the motives of the brothers well.

Don't your parents say something about it? I mean, I used to have that thing with my siblings but i went to a proper therapist and they really helped me gain a better perspective. I think it's a serious problem and you can't approach your own relationship with your brother that way. If you think you feel better not talking to him maybe you should try to be more altruistic and consider how your parents might view the situation or how it might affect them and maybe your brother doesn't mind talking to you. Take small steps and improve. Over years and years you two will only become slowly more distant, like strangers.

Is there a reason why you have never had a good relationship to begin with? Is it common arguements from time to time or something more serious like one big event that lead to this sort of relationship with your brother. I think you are approaching this wrong. Usually when you form a relationship with someone I don't think you do it with the intent to find some convenience in it. I wonder why your parents don't find it a hassle as well. I would presume you'd want your kids to get along or even talk, not having a common interest as such but you should be able to talk to your sibling whenever you want without it ending in arguements. Sorry if I sound like some pestering therapist, I just come from a family orientated home 😂😂.

My father and my aunt didn't talk to each other for 20 years, 12 years ago until now my father got sick and she's his biggest supporters both financially and emotionally. Most siblings have a bond even if they will develop it only later in life so it's important to leave the channels of communication open. Until I was 11 and my brother was 6 we used to see each other every weekend but when my father went to live in another city to get treatment, we barely see each other because he lives with his mother in another neighbourhood and I live with mine. He's now 16 years old and I'm 21, however everytime my father comes to visit us and we 3 meet which is 1 or 2 times a year it's like we've never been away and we're as comfortable with each other as we were when we were children. Some siblings live in the same house and aren't able to get along. Maybe the distance lead us to appreciate the time we can spend together especially when they end up being some of the most special moments because it's when we get to spent time with our father, and we're never sure if the next year he'll still be here or not. So please don't take the existence of your brother/sister for granted it can be more than just a blood relationship if you want to and later in life, when your parents aren't here anymore, you can support each other.

The Older brother is very Stupid He seems he tries to be the child which he clearly isnt he has the title of the older brother so he should act like one also for as well he needs to try to talk to the younger one.the Younger is also dumb for Being Hard Headed and trying to follow his brother if he wont talk then i wont either . i hate people that are Stubborn to the point of them Knowing and Not caring and Inflicting others with pain and annoyance threw there act. In the end of the day You are Family and what greater thing can u have than Family that is a Bond that nobody can take away from u. my brother and I did that too but not for 8 years. for example, my brother worked out of town, when he came home, my brother and I hardly ever talked together. when my family was eating at the dinner table, my brother and I sat side by side and we wanted to ask smth to each other, we always asked the parents. Since childhood every time we chat together will end in a fight, therefore we avoid to chat together unless it is important.

i will talk about the problem instead of the visuals now 😂 i personally think that i can somehow relate to the younger brother because i have an older brother too... i'm really awkward with new friends and anyone i'm not too close to. my brother is going to a college out of the town and only got home once a year or so, so i'm not that close to him... but he likes to tease me. he like to touch my thighs or my tummy to tickle me. yea... weird since i'm a girl... and i hate it... but i i never actually hit him for that... i usually only shove his hands off me, you can said that i'm quite matured for a 16 years old girl. i know it's awkward, i honestly never start a chat over things with my brother, but i do talk sentences to him once in awhile like, "hey bro, want to have an ice?" or "brother, i want to play this game, can you download it to me?" because even though it's awkward, you still can get something... while the brothers here won't even warn each other if there's danger behind each other. if i'm one of them, i'ld probably hug my brother... well i'll even do this if it's just my acquaintance... and pull him further so he will be saved. if the brothers just cannot talk to each other because the awkwardness, i think it's not puberty or communication to blame, it's more problem to it.
