Lots of mega carriers will teach you and pay you during the whole school but it's a 2 year contract before you can go to a different company.

Best of luck to you. Don't screw yourself with an automatic restriction. Try to find a small company that'll give you a chance and fit your preferences with some senior drivers that can teach you the tricks of the trade. You won't find that kind of mentorship hauling for a mega carrier. And keep your CB on and turned up when you're running.

Best of luck to you! I retired from the military and drove for U S Xpress 26 years. No, it wasn't always easy. But I enjoyed it immensely. An old hand told me when I started: "Trucking is 98% attitude and the rest is small details" Do your homework, find a good carrier and stay with them awhile. If you change jobs, make sure it's a good one! Beat of luck and safe travels!
