This should answer the question once and for all, on why we love Stevie. And no question, the man is Number One. GOAT

I was lucky enough to see Stevie Ray 6 times. The 3rd. Time was My 16th Birthday with My Best Friend . 2nd. Row center stage at this very concert. This was the last song of the main set, after a short break they played a 4 song encore. To Me Personally He is the Greatest Performer I have ever seen and felt.. Right down to My Very Soul. And here is why I say that.. Any time I see a video from a SRV show I was at.. Like this one, ( My personal favorite ) i can remember everything about that day and when i close my eyes.. I dont need to remember.. I AM THERE.

It’s amazing that nobody noticed the guitar switch at 2:51 of the video, he started the song with a redwood guitar and then he had a white guitar. So cool he never missed a beat.

Saw him three times. Always a guitar switch, seamlessly. The greatest of all time.

Great to see this resurgence of love for Stevie. I saw him 4 times, maybe. Truth be told, I was more excited and focused on visiting with him after the show, so I actually have a greater appreciation of his music now. He was as humble as he was talented, a kind and gentle soul. ❤

I recently saw a poll that him at number 20. Unbelievable. Of course it could be said I might be biased since I live next to Dallas where he was from. I agree with your assessment. In my opinion he is the G.O.A.T. As we say in Texas; y'all be safe.

His Red guitar broke, switched to a white one ,had to tune it walking back and forth to the amps, played behind his back, played one handed, gave a GEAT MESSAGE, played with his teeth, broke a tooth ,sang Great, and HE DID NOT MISS A BEAT, SO HOW ARE YOU DOING TODAY??😍🔥🎸🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐

The white guitar he named Charlie, after good friend and guitar shop owner Charlie Wirz built it for him, SRV...

I saw him twice in New Orleans and once in Eugene. He was not himself for the Eugene show but for the NOLA shows, especially the one in May 1986, he was scorching. A couple years later I passed him in the street but he was with his lady friend so I didn’t stop to tell him what a big fan I was of his music. RIP Stevie.

The white guitar he used in this video was called Charlie and the thing on the back is a topless hula dancer

In Step, his final album with Double Trouble, he's totally clean, and the title is a nod to the 12 step programs for addiction. "tightrope", and "wall of denial" studio versions , capture the full power of Stevie , sober, ready to blaze forward, and Love. Never more tight as a band. The live performances of these to songs are fun, but due to technical constraints, of Vhs , in the 80s timed tV performances, etc , the studio versions are second to none. Fun fact, Reece Wynans, keyboardist , has been in Joe Bonamassa's band , the past decade or so. Wanna treat, check out Going Down, live at Greek Theatre , Reece years the colors of the keys, first 60 seconds into song!

So you say SRV in in the to 10 ? Actually he's number one.

I said handful, like top 2 or 3, but I was hedging a little. He probably is #1. Anytime I'm listening to him, that's exactly what I think. I still recall where I was the day he passed. - G

Still posting this when everybody knows Stevie did not have a sister. That's very disrespectful to make false claims about his family.
@debbiegrubb62359 ай бұрын
This person keeps posting this lie on all of SRV's reactions. Stevie did NOT have a sister. This person is a very disturbed person wanting attention. Disgraceful and disrespectful of SRV's memory.

SRV is my favorite guitar player of blues and rock- blues of all time or in the very least the most captivating that I’ve ever heard grace us with his uncanny ability to play with so much humble, talented heart and soul. I have yet to see anyone master a guitar on stage and free flow it from the depths of his heart better than SRV…. And he couldn’t even read music, he just loved to play and captivated everyone on stage! An absolutely astounding musician that left many guitar greats listening in awe and wonder. (I’ve heard he made Eric Clapton feel nervous whenever both were on stage playing at concerts together and saw Johnny Copeland looking that very same way with SRV on stage.). SRV is in the category and reminds me exactly of the current day vocal artist DIMASH - who crushes his competitors in competitions around the world with his voice right now. It is music that I’d never even listen to but when Dimash is singing, I halt, stop and listen in awe. They are exactly the same - very unique, very courteous and humble and are 100% unrivaled pure talent.

I heard that the tooth fairy left a guitar pedal under his pillow, but SRV donated it to the music dept. at a high school. He has Hendrix’s old pedal.

I noticed because the white guitar is the one Charlie worked on. I sometimes to forget to note those things later because I'm used to them happening onstage myself - we're both musicians - and of course we don't bring attention to anything like that. :)

I believe that early on in the song he had his pick break. He just picked up the pieces, kept playing and got a new pick from on top of the amp. And it’s no wonder that tooth went. He played with very heavy gauge strings. He believe they provided a better tone. Too much, just too much!
