Here's a better translation for Q+Q, more appropriate to what they wanted to convey in Spanish ------------------------------------------------- The hunger which is eating up your inside I can effortlessly satiate The thirst that you feel Only makes me recall How easy it is for me to drown you Without fail, Whatever you may need Is going to be here Here it is Tell me, what else do you want? Stop denying it to yourself I secretly get back what's mine I take it all with me You shall not hide from me I know you'll always keep coming back Even though you sometimes want to escape, I know you will stay around here I intend to heal The same wound that I opened I hurt you, yet you come back to me By manipulating The power you grant me, I decide how it is going to end Without fail, Whatever you may need Is going to be here Here it is Tell me, what else do you want? Stop denying it to yourself I secretly get back what's mine I take it all with me You shall not hide from me I know you'll always keep coming back Even though you sometimes want to escape, I know you will stay around here Tell me what else you want! Tell me what else you want! Tell me what else you want! Tell me what else you want! If you're about to come back Tell me, what else do you want? Stop denying it to yourself (...denying it...) I secretly get back what's mine I take it all with me You shall not hide from me I know you'll always keep coming back You know how this is going to end But you are going to stay around here Tell me, what else do you want? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is my interpretation of the lyrics. I am an English teacher and a native Spanish speaker too, but I am no writer by any means. Having said this, I tried my best to convey the same feeling you get in Spanish. Feel free to make suggestions!

A lot of the older fans did not like Choke when it first came out. There are a couple of songs from Whiskey A Go-Go that you should consider. One is Show Me the Light, which they also play at the Dakota Bar. The other is a cover of Atlas Rise by Metallica, which they did at the end of a 2-hour set. Both are requests by Patreons and show how good the girls can be off the cuff.

Some fans say Choke was "overproduced" by a mainstream producer, almost the same comments I've seen about these new songs. Dany, Pau, and Ale have been excellent composers with catchy guitar riffs and hooks since they were kids. The only difference now with Keep Me Fed songs is the effects they use, and some close-minded fans can't handle it.
@Biomirth8 ай бұрын
"The only difference now with Keep Me Fed songs is the effects they use". That just isn't true. The structure and composition is quite different. You're right that some fans get oversensitive about any change, but that isn't all fans, nor all critique. I don't see the point in trying to shut down criticism. You might not agree with it but that doesn't mean critics 'can't handle it'. I think it would be more honest to say "I don't like hearing criticism" because your criticism of the criticism amounts to only that. I have no problem with people not wanting to hear criticism. Just say that. No need to disparage people.
@StepnieW8 ай бұрын
@@Biomirth Of course, the "structure and composition are quite different." My point is that Dany, Pau, and Ale have been writing catchy guitar riffs and hooks since they were kids. Most complaints say these new songs are overproduced and have poor mixing. The reality is some rock fans are close-minded about other music genres (industrial, techno, hip-hop, K-pop, for example) and hate it when an artist they like fuses another genre with their sound.
@Biomirth8 ай бұрын
@@StepnieW I don't disagree with anything you say there. I agree. We can all get behind them exploring and experimenting. I just don't like to see legitimate criticism shut down. When you overstate that 'nothing is different' and then say those that criticize the non-existent difference 'just can't handle it' you're telling people not to say anything because the structures are different and the composition style, lyrically and musically is very different. The only new song I do not like is HYCAD and it is because of the changes to these elements. I'm glad you replied to my reply but I don't think you have acknowledged my point even though I do agree with this last statement of yours. Please, let those of us with critique not be lumped into all the same group of 'not welcome here' non-fans. That is divisive and unnecessary. There is no need to shun people who don't like the same things you do about the band.

@@StepnieWexactly! This compresed sound has been trend in the last 10 years in new rock bands but some old rockers are stuck in the 80s and never listened to new bands from this era. The producer of this album is a young british that are in the same circles of bands like Royal Blood that use this same compresed digital sound since 8 years ago and it's very praised for this sound. In the rock charts you can see a lot of bands with this sound and some of this bands like Dead Poet Society has the same producer Anton de Lost and their album is so good. The problem is the majority of warning USA fans are old folks 50+ who are stuck in the 80s dad rock sound and they like TW bcoz their old albums sound like the 80s dad rock sound but they are girls in their 20s !!!!! They don't listen to ancient bands like zeppelin or sabbath....they like listen to modern rock like Royal Blood, Maneskin or Dead Poet Society and modern genres like kpop. One of their biggest idols is Muse that was a pioneer band using digital effects and compresing sound. Those old folks need open their close ancient minds.
@StepnieW8 ай бұрын
@@Biomirth "Nothing is different" because it's a catchy The Warning guitar riff. Listen to XXI Century Blood song guitar riff and the HYCAD guitar riff. And yet they're both different from The One or 23. The Warning is an open-minded band. Unfortunately, some of their fans are not. They "can't handle" modern music style, effects, and digital sound. Some of their criticism is a mascarade of their dislike of other music genres. Rock music is about freedom, rebellion, and open-mindedness. Some rock fans became the same close-minded contemporary music critics in the 1950s, early rock n' roll. "I don't like hearing criticism" from close-minded people who are biased against other music styles and genres. But I will not shun them. I will encourage them to be free, rebellious, and open-minded.

I don't have any reservations about the direction they are going in with their new music. Like you, I know that they have been playing with their sound, changing it up with every album. Queen of the Murder Scene had an array of sounds within the same album. If they bring on new fans with this new album all the better, even it means sacrificing a few that might leave the fandom. Another baseball reference: Fair weather Fans = people that attend the games of their favorite teams only if they are winning.

I actually like More in an acoustic form over the album version. There’s really nothing wrong with anything The Warning does on the new album, some who have followed them for a long time now, myself included, just don’t have as much enthusiasm for the high polished production values as we did for the raw emotional power of their earlier albums and live performances. I absolutely love the live performances of their new material because it’s The Warning and they truly shine live. The Warning’s soul and raw emotion is on full display Live, they are one of the few groups that can out perform their albums. I guess my biggest fear as an old musician is having seen good musicians lose their soul, their creative essence in the studio labyrinth, under a mountain of digital hocus pokus. But, The Warning will always have their live shows to cut through the corporate noise.

Just the fact they've created so much musical variety in their career means that such comments/feelings are probably inevitable now, just part of the landscape, and honest. It's OK. As much as I do not like the composition of HYCASong I love Que Mas Quieres. For me the production has been over the top on most of the new songs. In some it works really well (S!CK, Que Mas Quieres). In others, not so much. My problem isn't really with the production per se (though it does change the exquisite balance they have when live in terms of how much of the music is backing tracks: As little as possible ---> Eh, Whatever). It's the incautious, cavalier, as-if-written-by-AI composition of HYCAD that grinds my gears. Again, just so people can be pissed at me for the right reasons: I love their live performance of HYCAS in terms of performance and energy. It's only the structure and composition that I just can't embrace.

I am glad people enjoy the one song I don't but it does feel quite strange to be on the outside. Back to Que-Mas-Quieres: I feel like this was written to bring out the best of Dany's voice.
