Demons and Wizards (the album) was my first foray into Uriah Heap. 8-track tape deck in a tricked out van. Great road music! Wish we could go back.

Los olvidados Uriah Heep 😢... Linda canción!! Se extraña a David Byron. Gracias por recordarlos!! ❤❤❤❤❤

Nothing better than a heavy metal / hard rock band creating a "soft" number. Lady in Black highlights the fact that you don't need to go through 20 chords with 5 key changes & 10 rhythm breakdowns to create a great song. If you have insightful lyrics then 3 or 4 chords & a catchy rhythm with wonderful harmonies should suffice. No wonder McCartney, when queried about the secret to his legendary success, replied "I kept it simple". Less is more as a philosophy existed in classic rock of 60s & 70s. Unfortunately this hasn't been the case for the past 3 decades or so. Thankfully The Warning have brought back the intellectualism of classic rock through their subtle songwriting matched by profound poetry. BTW Uriah Heep is a character from David Copperfield by Dickens.

It's a very catchy Heep song with Hensley singing notice from the video David Byron had left. For me after that it wasn't the Heep anymore just like Steve's Yes tribute band without Jon Anderson.

My understanding is that David Byron just didn't want to sing this song because he didn't like it, but he remained the lead singer for a few more albums! The person singing is Ken Hensley, who wrote most of their material.
