Yes is a British progressive rock band formed in 1968. They are known for their complex compositions, virtuosic musicianship, and elaborate stage shows. The band's lineup has seen numerous changes over the years, but some of the most prominent members include Jon Anderson (vocals), Steve Howe (guitar), Chris Squire (bass), Rick Wakeman (keyboards), and Alan White (drums). In this video, the only difference in lineup is Patrick Moraz on the keyboards instead of Rick Wakeman.
"The Gates of Delirium" is a song from Yes's 1974 album "Relayer." It is one of their most ambitious compositions, running over 21 minutes long. The song is divided into several sections and features intricate instrumental passages, intricate vocal harmonies, and epic storytelling lyrics. The lyrics are inspired by Leo Tolstoy's novel "War and Peace" and explore themes of war, chaos, and ultimately, the triumph of love and peace.
"The Gates of Delirium" is often considered one of Yes's most challenging and musically adventurous works, showcasing the band's virtuosity and willingness to push the boundaries of progressive rock.
