Loyalty is Tommy's downfall, and Wilbur knows it. Even back in Pogtopia, theorizing that Tommy was the traitor had seemed like some sick joke to him. His loyal soldier boy may be loud, naive, and go against his orders (occasionally his beliefs, even), but Tommy will always remain loyal and honest. And Wilbur knows Tommy can't give up on him; that goes against everything Tommy has ever done. So Tommy's like a hesitant puppy of sorts at this point, and Wilbur's waiting for the chance to promote him to puppet. What are brothers if not unwaveringly loyal, after all? Wilbur had never truly lied to Tommy, never sacrificed him for some greater good. As a good big brother should. :)

The fact this song actually still kind of holds up even after Wil's finale makes this even better in my opinion. Even after everything, Wilbur never said sorry, for a bit refused to be truthful with Tommy, and the part about two paths diverging has a whole new meaning now. And the bridge, the bit where Wil says that despite Tommy's frustrations, he still follows him, meanwhile Tommy tries to drag out the truth of where Wil is going, just perfect. Tommy's verse where he talks about going down this road no longer means Tommy just following along with whatever Wilbur plans to do, it's now Wilbur running off, only to leave Tommy behind. The fact it came full circle makes this song still very accurate while still fitting the time it came out. Absolutely perfect!

*It's hard to manipulate someone who knows they're being manipulated ain't it Wilbur?* Anyways other than that Tommy is actually taking things carefully now and this song is comparing his character development as well as Wilbur, Tommy saying that he isn't the same person he used to be when he was Wilbur's right hand man and *IS* no longer his brother, and Wilbur saying that he will always be the same person he was when he was his right hand man and will always *BE* his brother. Guess that's what happens when ypu manipulate a child two or many times they become careful and change (like the tides in the ocean) . Nice song Alioof! Great work you really captured this new Wilburs character perfectly. This new Wilbur is like a perfect fusion of L’manburg Wil and Pogtopia Wil. He wears his evil on his sleeves like Pogtopia Wil and he has the same enjoyment of life as L’manbug Wil. Also Dream and Wils partnership will only work as far as none of them tries to give orders to the other. After that it falls apart. When 2 apex predators who hunt the same prey meet in the animal kingdom theres always a blood bath, just look at brown bears and siberian tigers.
