@@frankpaya690 Couldn't have said it better. I have many mental illnesses and been to countless doctors and psychologists etc, some have been good actually, some have been horrendous. The thing that can get someone to understand even if they haven't experienced it themself, or maybe just sometimes, not chronic like we patients, is to give an example and make them understand HOW it affects you. I have given my doc now an example of how my insomnia is is, I told him ''Think about one night in your life, one night when you couldn't fall asleep no matter what you tried, and then when you finally managed you woke up loads of time, and then that affected your whole day, feeling irritated, like you kinda are sick (insomnia for me sometimes causes me to feel actually sick) and that your whole day is messed up, it affects that workday. Well that is how it is for me every day, except those 3 days I can have zolpidem.'' I got higher dosage on one of my insomnia-meds, the other one is classed as narcotic, I get 30 every 10 weeks so 3 a week, i'll go see my doc soon and imma see if he can atleast change so I can take 4 a week, would help. Sorry for the rant haha

I am going through this same thing. Getting back on the wagon now. Also trying to make this a life change and not just a lose weight diet. YOU CAN DO IT AGAIN. If this is what you want then you can have it! To quote the great Harry Potter "I knew I could do it this time because I'd already done it." Many of us are making these changes now and to you, me and everyone else, you are worth it and you are not alone in your endeavors.

If you lost 70 pounds and gained it all back that means you weren't weighing yourself during lockdown. I weigh myself once a day and log it, but you should at least weigh yourself once a week. If you had done that you would have noticed that you were gaining weight and have been able to fix it earlier before you even gained 10 lbs.

Hey, sometimes we get hurdles on our journey, but that's okey. That's normal. But now you know you can do this! You can be even more motivated because you actually know your abilities. You did it once before. Take it one step at the time, but don't let hurdles hold you back. You can still go back to your path to your goal. You can do this, girl!

Try Dr. John McDougal's free diet plan and recipes on his website. He teaches a whole foods plant based oil free minimally processed diet. Chef AJ on KZbin explains how it works with her Caloric Density video. This is the only way of eating that took away my cravings and hunger. I can eat when I'm hungry. I started by using Jeff Novick's 10 fast recipes which match this plan. I am going to eat this way forever. It reduces stroke, reduces heart attack risk, and fights cancer. Plus my grocery bill is lower. I cook and freeze in portions.

I don’t understand this mindset either 🤷🏻‍♀️. When a person is this heavy they are punishing themselves, nobody is doing it to them. “Nobody should have to go through this.” Well, you’re right about that! And I’m not just talking about weight. Many people have this mindset, without realizing that they are the ones that have to make changes.

Self inflicted suffering stems from self- condemnation.Such Condemnation comes from self- hatred .This self- hatred is often undeserved and an exaggerated version of self critique ( which is normal). The recognition of this exaggeration is a first step. The second is awareness of the inappropriatness of the self -hatred...that its not deserved. Then forgiveness is possible , and the cessation of the drive to inflict self -condemnation and susequent suffering .If you figure out how to do this...let me know. Dr Nowzarden seems to have a natural ability to put these people on the path to achieving the aforementioned goals. He gives them the mentality they use to reclaim their own physiology and self respect. Awesome.

Eat as much natural food as you can. No processed, no dead animals, no sugar garbage, Eat raw pecans (and other raw nuts) HUGE salads, avacados in blueberry smoothies, high natural fat and protein (lentils/beans/nuts) lots of water. don't undereat . Don't panic about getting enough exercise. walk for 3 minutes at a time, or start with just 1 minute at a time if you are feeling winded. Even if it takes a really long time to build up to 10 minutes or 15 minutes at a time for walking, don't worry, it will get easier over time. Keep saying to yourself 'Steady as she goes!' and 'One minute at a time' if that helps. Give yourself as much time as you need, even if it's a few years to get healthy. The time will go by anyway so there is no rush if you are doing it in a healthy way. Surgeries and starvation diets are unhealthy over the long run. I guarantee you that if you just do one thing: cut out all sugar and junk food to start, you will start feeling better very quickly as the junkfood and the crap and sugar that companies load it with is what's making you feel shitty mentally. They are manufactured to keep you sick and addicted. Outsmart them all! You can heal yourself. Don't look at it as being out of control; just look at it as 'It's now time to be educated about what I am consuming and how it's making me feel sick and depressed and keeping me unhealthy'. You can overcome and transcend the brainwashing that these companies want you to be stuck in so you keep buying their shit. 'Steady as she goes!' PS. Try not to eat fried food..that's a killer! A wee bit of olive oil in salad isn't going to hurt; just not cups of it! Best of luck!

How do they do it and others don't? The magic sauce is to have supportive people whom you want to live for and who won't enable you, plus some other positive goals and activities in life besides eating. There has to be POSITIVE reinforcement for this to work, never mind for maintenance, which is harder than loss.

Key-thing is to do it for yourself tho, not others. I quite smoking back in 2020 and haven't taken one cig since 27th of march that year, not even on parties. I had a bad cough, can't even explain how bad it was, nighttime the worst, no stamina and shit. Ppl told me to quit but I knew none could force me but then I decided to do it for MYSELF not others, then it worked. But yeah support from others is important but the will to change for yourself is the main thing imo.
