Yeah, they all levelled up when he becamse a demon lord...but they took a while to explain all of their changes. Like that healing power from Shions troops was never explained until now. But those are the people that died during the invasion.

When Rimuru became a demon lord a bunch of people evolved. Beretta went from an Arc-Doll to Chaos Doll. Gobling under Benimaru became Ogres. Kijin became Oni (they even showed it in one of the meetings but it was played off as a joke) and the dead goblin, due to the essence of the 2 demons being mixed in, they evolved into Death Ogres, despite looking the same as goblins. Other evolutions or gifts were given to those under Rimuru.

Don't know why you were saying the things that were said before were useless because the Luminaries told lies, since the things they said were mostly true. Hinata WAS working with Demon Lord Valentine, she and Rimuru did have a talk which changed her perspective of him to her and is now causing her to want to ally with him (from an outside party it could easily be seen as deceit), and it's also true no one saw Veldora aside from the people of Tempest (and the ones who were present before Walpurgis). Not to mention Rimuru actually is deceiving people using false information to spin the story in a direction that benefits him (so he could easily be lying about Veldora, since as we've seen these past few episode people are HEAVILY wary of him). The anti magicule barrier in the road (that none of them could know about) also makes it seem even less likely that Veldora is active because he always leaks his magicules wherever he goes. The other things the meetings showed was the importance of controlling information, how Diablo's plan in Falmuth was going, establishing Tempest as an official nation, how different groups are approaching the changes Tempest brings, and showing who all the players are in this situation (for now and the future). Rimuru and Tempest (who are basically a monolith, though I guess you can count Diablo separately since he's working alone currently) Luminas The 7 Luminaries Hinata and the Crusaders (can split this into the working with and not working with Hinata factions if you want) The Eastern Merchant group (Damrada specifically) The Rosso family (who we saw last episode) King Edward and Falmuth Yuuki (who we don't know his involvement yet) and then there's the Angels and other Demon Lords who could pop up at any point. And even then I'm probably missing a group or two. The information is pretty interesting if you're willing to listen (at least to me anyway, I've been enjoying these past few episodes, also sorry about the wall of text).

agreed, they are literally just not paying attention and saying it's bad writing. they think the meetings are pointless because things didn't go according to plan? that's ridiculous, the part rimuru is referring to as "not planned" is that it would be this one sided, as they were originally meant to just stall for time while he fights hinata. as for actually spending the time to arrange the even numbered match ups, that was obviously important to achieve the best outcome.

The battlesages/master rooks that went to Falmouth are distinct enough to count as a separate faction too I believe. They are a separate group to the crusaders and have completely different goals. But yeah, you covered most of the group's involved that we know of! There is so many moving parts and it is so interesting

I don't know of this is coincidence or not, but Rimuru and Hinata also fought during the 7th and 8th episode of Season 2. Now they meet on episode 7 to fight in the 8th episode of Season 3.

In a prior episode, in a mtg, Gobta called Hakuro an oni and he cheerfully agreed, then the kanji for "fair oni" appeared over his head and over all the others around the table--except for Shion, "fair" was crossed out and replaced with "wicked" (because of the demon magicules Raphael used in her resurrection).

Its a pity you dont remember the previous episodes as it will probably hamper how good these next episodes will be as the pieces all fall into place. I did a count before and there is 10+ factions that we know of involved in the current conflict, so lots of moving pieces! P.s. Half the point of all the planning is to show which parts of the plans are foiled and to show which plans are counter planned etc. This is a political show, not a battle shonen. It is about the politcal stuff not the fighting. And i think the author (fuze) knows what he is doing since it is the best selling LN series ever... and the LNs have many more meetings 😉 If you don't like it thats fair enough, but for the love of god stop trying to pretend like it is a battle shonen when it is not 🤣 P.s.s. Did you notice that the little goblina is the one that Shion died trying to save in s2? She went from scared little girl to a badass pseudo immortal fighter since then 😂

@@wkadalie there is always a lot cut out when adapting to anime sadly, it just has to be done when switching mediums. On the plus side this season has been more faithful to the source material than volumes 1 and 2 so far. I am especially happy they kept the Ramen scene as it is great to see another side to Hinata!

@@shaunmcdonough7844 I wish they'd done it like the manga.... in the manga they showed Rimiru going to Mjöllmile...and getting him to invest in his Ramen....and then they showed the development....and he served seafood to one of the fishmen. And that was like cannibalism. Hilarious.... then the next chapter showed Hinata standing in queue to buy Ramen. Those details would have really added to it. Like the road barriers.....they set it up then did the pay off.

@@wkadalie The anime is based off the LN not the manga. Although in the LN the reason for the Ramen stores is Mjolmile as well. I don't remember the fish scene though 🤔

@@shaunmcdonough7844 I don't think so....I think it's way closer to the Manga... even this coming fight wasn't at all like this in the LN.... it played out way more like an invasion....and all the knights were separated. And had to take on each of the subordinates....also Diablo was involved.... and bascially used his skill to make the knights betray their own....and even almost turned one into a renfield.

Slime has been dialogue full because they're following the light novel very closely. This season will probably adapt two arcs, and they are not that big, I think that's the reason why they've been so faithful to the source material. Especially when the material for next season is FIRE, and they probably don't want to tap that in this season!!

Now that all the exposition is out of the way, we've got some really good content coming. People kept complaining about the meeting episodes, but imagine us manga readers, how we felt reading exposition chapters month's on end (manga is monthly). Note: I really should start reading the novel.

bro i was thinking the exact same thing, like bro that just interrupts the action and is one of the things i hate most in an anime. why would they want that? they are claiming the difference is the meeting being interesting. but that just shows they don't pay attention because there is alot of interesting information, world building, set up in these meetings.

the real question is all these 7 chapters had been from volume 7 between rimuru vs hinata, diablo doing his thing in the kingdom of farmaus and and the rest of the fights of rimurus ally's and hinatas paladin that will be the end of chapter 12. we still has 12 more chapters BUT this are the volume 8 that is essentially a peace conference with the demon lord valentine(hinatas boss), volume 9 that is a festival that even if has a tournament host by rimuru is also more meeting and economy and volume 10 that is essentially rimuru joining the ONU but has a cool final battle and set the stage for volume 11 call hero awakens that is super cool and we even se the hero in the op so I was hoping they will at least reach that part but now with 3 volumes of meeting that looks impossible the only way will be to skip some meeting and only do the essential so we can reach the hero at volume 11

They will only adapted till volume 9. if you read manga you can guess whers it will end because anime will never surpass manga in story arc.

I don't think they ever planned to adapt vol 11 this season, they'll probably adapt only till the founding festival. Tensura usually only adapts 3 to 4 vols of the LN per season.

i feel like this is what they fail to understand, they keep saying the can just tell us what they said in the meetings through flashbacks, but that would just interrupt the action and be even more annoying... if you pay attention the meetings are mostly all relevant and important, and getting them out of the way leaves room for uninterrupted action when the time comes.

@@Vary180 I actually agree with breaking up the info dumps, the timing and method is just important. The info needs to be optimized, instead of full conversations include the more relevant parts and omit scenes like that 30 sec of soundless conversations in the holy knight conference. Place the info in between fights not during to avoid breaking up fights. And absolutely no flash backs, it's lazy writing to avoid having to tell a story that isn't obvious. Leaving time for action like you say is good and all, but last season there was almost no action until the last couple episodes, pacing was baaad.
