I’ve been watching these channels for a little less than two years now……so I guess that makes me a relative newcomer that surely doesn’t know a whole lot about anything. However, I do know that I’ve observed people yelling at the VO’s for standing there and doing nothing, and here I see they’re being criticized for doing something. I am not saying either is right or wrong, simply that some people will be unhappy no matter what you do. I can imagine how difficult it would be to walk by this precious creature, for myself that is. Especially if a long period of time has passed with no sign of momma. I would feel obligated to at least try to help it. Humans are a part of nature yet doctors intervene to help us all the time. And I’m not saying a human life is the same as a wild monkey’s, but yet we are all part of the same circle of life and Divine creation. Just my thoughts……peace to all ✌🏼

This baby was left by it's mother, they took him, fed him and than gave him to a mom that already had an infant. Than they proceeded to film this infant with a mother that beat him and allowed him to starve because she needed to nurse her own infant. His mother left him because he had disabilities so when this happens, it's better to just let the baby die. The vo's do this for viewers, poor Calvin had a horrible life with Cassie. This is what happens when humans interfere for money. Go watch his videos, it's painful to watch.

It’s all pretty damn sad to me, and I don’t really understand the politics behind it all; I’ve read that new video footage is not being allowed at times, so the content creators use old videos and make up new “fake” stories about who is who. That some creators are environmentalists attempting to show the plight of the monkeys, and some are just people out to make money off the worst animals and events that happen. Somebody told me the VO’s have to be “allowed” or sanctioned by the government to film the monkeys, like a license of sorts…..is that true? And who gives them their names, the creators? Or is there some kind of government tracking program going on to get data about the monkey population? All that is confusing to me because I can’t seem to find any real consensus about what’s “really” going on here. Besides all that B.S., I do understand the importance of letting nature take its course without sticking our noses in it, and what will be will be. Tbh, my thoughts were more about the human animals, lol, who are quick to voice their complaints or praise about everything depending which side they are on. I think people can be so quick to judge at times and believe their opinions are unshakable and omnipotent, without question. I just know that in this situation, a person who is very sensitive and empathetic, like me…..would have a hard time leaving it to die. The second part of what the creator did, if true, I certainly would not do. Knowing myself I would keep him and raise him. Thank you for letting me know the backstory to this, because it really does make a difference knowing that and then being able to put pieces of this sad puzzle together. Take care ✌🏻

It’s Calvin and was Calvin when the video first came out way back when. Calvin’s mother Christy, that abandoned him is seen in this video and has no interest in him. She sensed something was wrong with him and animals abandon newborns when they sense things wrong, even cats do it. I learned first hand and my children were devastated. Calvin would have never survived, just prolonged the inevitable. Wasn’t Cassi fault and certainly not Celine’s. The VO’s may have thought they were helping. It’s hard to walk past a newborn of any animal and not try to do something to help. I don’t know the intentions of the VO’s so I’m not defending them nor am I judging them.

Mom abandoned him due to sensing abnormalities...watch Calvin videos. Casi feeds both for several days then stops to take care of her own baby. At no time did his mom want him. If you want an idea of what likely would have happened had he been given to her, watch monkey Rozy. He wasn't marked for life. Look particularly at his thumb. It is a stump and has no nail. He also appears to have mouth deformities (jaw) and seems to be vision impaired. He definitely has motor control defects.

I believe it may have started over an Animal the Mother was going to reject herself anyway due to the Animal not being able to survive . So someone took it and ran with that theory and it spread like wildfire!! But the Truth is a Human can in fact Touch a Newborn Animal it Happens Across our World Daily in Farming, Zoo's , Sanctuaries and Home's!! I think I saw this video a long time ago. the gave 2 babies back to their mothers in the years that I have watched these videos . neither turned out well one the mother threw the baby from the tree and it died and the other was poor calvin they gave him to another mother it started out well but soon she resented calvin for drinking here babies milk she threw him away like unwanted paper, he was dying from starvation and if I remember right he was finished offby other monkeys. You do not have the Calvin story right. Calvin was abandoned by his very young mom who HAD NO milk. He fell out if the tree and the young mother did no go pick him up. Casi finds him. Shevus a Kidnapper. She picked him up to torture. He needed milk and they took him from Casi, fed him and then gave him back to the kidnapper. He fell out of the tree three times. The last time he died. But Casivwas starving him.!.!. She us a Kidnapper! He plan was not to care for him , but to abuse him!.!. She is a Kidnapper. What you have is a whole lot of ignorance and an extremely judgmental attitude. You have to make the biggest most ridiculous assumptions to get to where you are at and you have no idea that making huge assumptions that are wrong like you are doing only make you look like a complete fool. This isn’t a petting zoo, Tammy. They are there filming a troop of wild animals. This baby just got abandoned by its mother, which happens to a small percentage of these monkeys. These VO’s have cohabitated the land with these animals for hundreds, or thousands of years. The actions that they took in regards to this baby monkey were exactly in line with what smart people who know what they are doing would have done. You think that picking up the newly birthed abandoned baby monkey and doing whatever with it would be the right thing to do. Literally every aspect of your thinking is screwed up. That baby is not going to be comfortable at all if they picked it up. They would end up frightening the shit out of it. This is not an animal that you are used to in your country and doesn’t act like you think it is going to. So besides having the opposite affect from what you think, that baby is still covered in its mother’s afterbirth. Slimy chunks of green afterbirth and it stinks and would not be good to get all over everything. Then there is the reality that there are thousands of monkeys there and because they are wild they will go so far as to kill other monkeys or starve them or whatever. They are wild animals. But one thing that is universal is they will all protect other monkeys from humans. So throughout this video you hear monkeys barking occasionally and there is even video from this very scene of a monkey that was coming down a tree and it opened its mouth like it was trying to intimidate them and then ran back up. All this means is they cannot just do whatever they want with the new monkey that they found laying on the ground. They might be able to, but they have to remain completely aware of their surroundings so as not to create any dangerous situations for themselves and they do their best not to disrupt the troop. With all that in mind, how they treated Calvin, how they fed him and touched him, and how they ultimately gave him back by placing him up on the wall near the tree that Calvin’s mother, Christy, was sitting in was exactly what they should have done. They did everything perfectly. They didn’t make one more dollar for doing anything that they did with Calvin. This is another area of massive ignorant assumptions on the part of you and your friends. These guys record monkeys. They have nothing to do with how much the person gets paid for uploading this content to KZbin. Two totally separate groups of people. What is happening here is something called Negativity Bias. You are so conditioned to be negative and think negatively that you turn everything you see into something negative as well. You people literally skip right past several miracles in Calvin’s life so that you can feed that negative beast in your head that controls everything about you. Calvin was saved by these VO’s and he should have died right there. They had no obligation or duty to rescue him or help him. Their job is to record monkeys in the wild. They cannot do that unless they are behind their camera. But they were able to give Calvin the chance to continue breathing for another day. Calvin should have died that day but they helped him. Calvin was not strong and in the end he lasted about 3 weeks before his life ended, but we can’t look at his death as a negative. Because all these monkeys are already dead. Their lives are very hard and nothing is promised to them. Many fail to adapt to the wild and die. That is not a negative thing, it is perfectly normal and natural. So we can be happy for Calvin that they helped him and he did live as long as he did.

Not Calvin. Calvin was abused & starved to death. I felt so bad for him. His few short months on this planet all he did was suffer. Martin is who was raised by his Grandmother & he lived. Martin was the baby who was adopted by his Grandma and raised successfully. Poor Calvin was abused and starved to death. I don't know why Cassie took him if she didn't want to raise him because another mom may have wanted to do it but instead, Chica tried to save him from the abuse and he starved. In Cassie's defense, I think there was something wrong with Calvin because Cassie kept smelling his breath and bum and then pushing away. Many mom's won't waste their resources on a baby with no chance. It may be why he was abandoned to begin with. Also, other babies who'd been denied breast milk from the very start foraged for food, but Calvin not only refused to forage, he refused the bottle when the VO's tried to help him. Other babies gobbled down the milk but he refused, all he wanted to do was breast feed.

Also, mothers make different milk for girls than they do boys.
