I'm not 💯 percent sure it was a BR spider but talked to lots of people and that's what they all thought.

I'm in SW Missouri, I just killed one crawling from below my coffee table to the water bottle on top. I have entire Ziploc bags filled with them. I used to be terrified of them, but knowledge is power. My rental house is 85 yrs old, drafty and surrounded by woods, so-yeah. I'm fastidious with shaking out everything; clothes, towels, shower curtain, bedding, etc. I check before I sit down everywhere. I'm a CA native, 10 yrs of the Ozarks and ticks, copperheads, wasps, water snakes, assassin bugs, mice, rats 🤮 I miss summers at the beach with 70ish temps, no humidity, no bugs. It's too hot to even enjoy the outdoors. But I'm here and trying to make the best of it. I was definitely unprepared for the bugs and rodents that thrive in these woods. Thank you for your informative video, I'm definitely decluttering, clearing shrubs from exterior and looking forward to getting regular professional treatments done. Impressive that you're running your own business so young!

Pretty certain I just had one pop out of some wrapped up items I got out of storage. It happened in the area of Charleston, WV, but the box was in storage in NE Ohio. The box had been on the property for some time so the spider could have come from either region. There was a baby in the box as well. I killed both and after emptying the box, burned it and the wrapping paper in case there were any eggs. I know spiders and this was no grass, wolf, house or cellar spider. The only other possibility would be a yellow sack spider, which is native to NE Ohio, however the color was a much darker tan and the marking on the carapace more pronounced (it was moving quick and I had to use my knife to kill the large one before I could positively ID the fiddle). That all notwithstanding, thank you for a very informative video and best of luck to you in your business!

My old home had an infestation. I was in my late 20s after having my first child, and had moved in with my mom for a couple of years. I killed one in the bath tub. This was in Houston, Texas. My mom didn't believe me that it was a recluse, but I took a picture before killing it. She still didnt think it was one. About a month later, I caught one in a shopping bag in the closet that had party favors for my daughter's birthday. I put the spider in a zip lock bag and called pest control. They confirmed it was a brown recluse. We put traps down and caught maaany more. That house wasn't even cluttered! My next house had a brown WIDOW problem in the garage. That was crazy because I found a beautiful female with 20 spiky egg sacs in one spot!!

I do know that people will exaggerate about the recluse, with states in North America and other places will mistaken the recluse with a spider that looks similar like the brown wood spider, common everywhere, the recluse is akin to a more of a tropical type environment, my uncle R.I.P was bitten in Vietnam by a recluse, he had to doctor that bite for years after eating flesh, but they are a tropical environment type meaning warm moisture..
@adamwilliams2679 Жыл бұрын
I imagine if their bites caused a narcotic reaction that a lot more people would be trying to get bitten... Lol it's okay. I know you meant necrotic. And the problem there isn't the scarring so much as the bite causing a much larger wound that many times does not want to heal, remaining an open sore. I remember seeing one poor guy getting his bandage changed out and pretty much one whole side of his back was just open and bloody. I grew up in Wyoming and I know there were some out there. When I lived in Maryland, my financial advisor actually was bitten when one was unfortunately trapped as he was putting a glove on. Thankfully his only reaction was being deathly ill for a week versus the necrotic one. I think the myth about them being extremely aggressive comes down to their numbers and fear of their bite. One other spider that gets a bad rap about aggressiveness is the black widow. It normally takes a lot to get bitten by one. Didn't stop my ex from getting that job done though lol. She definitely had a lot of nerve pain on her left side and nausea for a couple days after that.

I watched a video the other day with a wolf spider vs. a brown recluse. I was surprised to see that the wolf spider killed the brown recluse. I guess the wolf spider is an aggressive hunter. When my ex-husband was out in the field while in the Army in TX, he was bitten by a brown recluse on the side and palm of his hand. Necrosis did set in and his hand turned a purplish-brown. It took awhile for his hand to heal, for the dead skin to fall off, and new skin to grow back.

His wife went to visit family so he made it down to the last pair wherein these things had nested in one leg. He said he never really felt a bite but felt them crawling around. @RedGummyBears-g3g3 ай бұрын
That's strange they would tell you that,. I say this because part of my career was spent as an urgent care nurse in Temecula California. Every bite we saw was treated as a spider bite as medicine felt at that time 90% of the bites you get will be spider bites. All docs have differing opinions though. One doc I worked with said "it doesn't matter what bit him, the treatment is the same." Almost all winged stinging insects are formic acid (bee's, wasps etc.) we react differently due to the different proteins floating in the formic acid. Those are what causes the localized reactions (histamine) and systemic reactions (also histamine).

We have small dog he has only been bit once. Sure he swallow it and it got him in throat it was bad and close call. I have seen and killed mg self not counting traps atleast 10. So they here all different . How ever they are highly aggressive toward me. I can’t figure out why. I can’t find another person who has experienced what i have, still am. Does not make any since to me at all. Everyone I have saw except 2 where running straight at me. And I have been but not over 30 times. They like to get in my ears: I got two fresh bites in my left ear right now. That makes 4 total I have had in my ears. They hurt bad there. I have been bit in the head, stomach, thigh , behind my knees, carb, wrist, waste, top my forearm, side of my forearm . About every where. Like I said my wife not been but first time. She don’t even pay them no attention. I don’t walk barefoot now. I shake everything out. At night I don’t move with out flash light. They eat me up. This is truth I can show u the scars and and fresh bites: pics of one’s I have killed and caught in traps. Can u tell me why? I do have a theory of why. This place is small. My sleeping is bad. I go days without sleeping . Then sleep very little when I do. So my theory is where it so small here, and what there nature is, wanting to stay away not been seen, and being nocturnal. Everytime they come out light are on and here this person is sitting there, maybe it itriates them , or make them feel threatened in some sort of way. I don’t know that is my theory. Like I said I can’t find no one else saying anything like this. I tell if has effected my already not well mental health. Can’t take it much more.

We can’t buy that spray only you can because your license if I call a pest control company it’s a minimum of $100 and up to have them come out and then they want a contract

If people visit family and open their suitcases they can of course unknowingly transfer their spider problem into someone else’s home. West TN has one of the highest concentrations of these nasty things and trust me, they can be very tiny and hide inside all sorts of things undetected. It’s also a great way to keep family from visiting 😂😂

People scared of these, then I’d suggest you don’t visit the uk. We have house spiders size of your palm, they run extremely fast and will run at you in your own home. One time I was just watching tv in my parents home on the sofa next thing one ran at me on the sofa. I screamed and jumped getting my brother to kick it. 😅 they are also quite hard to kill you can stand on them and sometimes it doesn’t kill them and you can hear them run on wooden floors. This is why I live in a high rise on one of the top floors as they tend not to climb this high up. 😅 we also have brown recluse too..

@DanTheBugMan Necrotic not narcotic, necrosis is where the flesh is deteriorated by the venom of the spider bite, pretty nasty look it up

When I was stationed at Fort Wood Missouri in 1981 my wife and I lived off post. One night I felt something scurry across my face , I jumped up and turned on the light then abruptly freaked out. There were around 10 Recluses walking across the bedspread. My wife woke up saw them and went running screaming. We moved back on post the next day. The post entomologist confirmed they were Recluses and said for every one you find there are around 60 you don't. We found hundreds.
