Brownells BRN-601 discussion

With some added 601 goodies from ar15sport.com. These are a great representation of the very early ar-15 and are fun shooters at a fair price. They will draw a crowd at the range especially with younger enthusiasts born and bred on M4’s and the latest builds.

Your almost their all you need is the 601 paddle release and dimpled mag release!

Most 601's didnt have the dimpled mag release. His port door is also incorrect. Flash hider washer should be checkered, 601 front sight bases were cast, not machined. Furniture should be brown painted green, not molded green. The rear sight drum is also incorrect, and the upper wouldn't have forging marks or the arrow for adjustment. BUT Brownell's did a good job bringing something to the market that could be made close.

All the hand guards and buttstocks I’ve seen on these guns have been a much lighter green. Brownells must of attempted to correct this recently.

PARR53 yep they were a mint green and changed to OD a while back.
