You’ve got to love Mike he’s aged a lot since I first started reading his articles nearly 20 years ago as for the 825 looks stunning never been a browning fan but the restyling is really appealing to me.

Great interview Alex. Always enjoy hearing Michael's thoughts and opinions on guns and shooting. I have some of his books. I was very impressed with the 725 when it came out years ago and had some of the same likes about it. Especially the 20ga. Cheers Ron

Saying they modified the mechanical trigger to be more reliable with lighter loads makes no sense. Mechanical triggers don't rely on recoil to reset.
@StrictlyShootingUKКүн бұрын
This is a good point you’re making. However I got it out that it’s the pivot point of the trigger that makes the difference. Hence why I went back to the issue. You’re right x
@windym709Күн бұрын
@@StrictlyShootingUK Also heard that they have increased sear weight so there are different stories out there!
@yardleypenКүн бұрын
The essential point is that inertia trigger guns can have issues with light loads (often due to inertia block springs). This gun doesn't have those issues. Its mechanism does have an inertia element though it may be best described as mechanical.
@windym709Күн бұрын
@@yardleypen both the 725 and the 825 are claimed to have mechanical triggers but they aren’t as they both still rely on an inertia block, more semi inertia/mechanical action it would seem, whatever it was they’ve altered springs, sears and angles etc. to hopefully cure it.
@timbacus9698Күн бұрын
@@windym709 Thank you, that makes sense.

To interest a new generation of shooters to the tools of trade in clay sports, receiver designs have to go this way from an aesthetic side from the big makers. We live in a tecky edgy time. The young guys shooting at my local club flock to the hard edged receiver designs of the 725 and 825’s. I still dig the old citori superposed design, but I’m in my 50’s. Good job browning and miroku.

Very instructive indeed! The Browning 825 is a great gun, no doubt but as you wondered: could it ever replace the legendary B525?

I think it could replace the XS pro.. I do think that.

How does the 825 pro compare with the XS pro in your opinion?
@StrictlyShootingUKКүн бұрын
@@robinlewis3288 well, I think and its only my opinion that the 825 will be the thing to replace the XS Pro. That’s not to say the XS is old hat but I think the people that bought it new are ready for a change and the 825 will be a safe bet. So thank you for asking x

I prefer the 825 Pro Sport - for me it's softer shooting. I like the lower action. The aesthetics with the new engraving are exceptional and the trigger mods make sense...
@robinlewis3288Күн бұрын
I didn’t think anything would feel nicer than my XS Pro but last year I picked up a 725 black edition it felt good to mount and now it’s my go to gun (some how much better than a basic 725 sporter). The narrower fore end and thicker palm swell sit nicely. Will definitely look at a 825 pro sport when they become available.
@gregcameron9907Күн бұрын
i looked at one 825 with adj comb, the wood looked grain pitted and not worth the 4900 canadian dollars, yes minor changes but my 725 is very very well fitted

Don't get me wrong... but aren't all browning except the cynergy. All just variants of the citori? Or b25?
@StrictlyShootingUKКүн бұрын
Yes basically. They are. I just thought it would be good to look at the finer details but yes you’re right. The cynergy is a much over looked action with the fastest trigger pull in the world. 00021 seconds if I recall and also the lowest profile o/u Just never really took off did they? And the citori. How I love it. ESP the straight hand stock 725 Citori. Oh my

@StrictlyShootingUK i was just wondering if i remembered right. I've really been slobbering over the new 825 sporter. that is deep engraved. And the new 825 s3. But for 2k less, the regular citori cxs looks better every day.
