Harry Mason is probably the biggest Chad of all the Silent Hill protagonists. No mental baggage or anything like that he just fights his way through the entire town to find his kid.

Both Harry and Henry are "wrong place, wrong time" situation protagonist. Both of them got no dark past baggage, kinda sucks for them to be in that situation. But yeah both are chads protagonists in SH

The sound design in these games are actually next level and what all horror games should strive for. Actual masterpieces in that regards, imo.

I feel like Silent Hill was one of the first to do ambience as well as it did. The whole claustrophobic hellish dark world with intense heart pumping scares and the whole cold lonely quiet overworld abyss was so groundbreaking. This was the only Silent Hill game I ever played as a kid I'm glad Ray played it and I got to watch it. I think I did get the Good+ ending with Gameshark but couldn't finish the game legitimately without it I'd turn the game off at times, believe it or not the bosses were actually terrifying back then. Looking foward to seeing Silent Hill 2 for the first time.

God I Love the Ambiance in this game. the metallic and pumping sounds are just so slightly "Off" and creepy. the sense that it's a sound i should be familiar with yet I don't know exactly what is producing it nor where its located. Good Stuff.

wow, part 3, byoutiful speaking of OP controls by using the strafe buttons, after beating the game you can go to your inventory, select options then use the bumpers/triggers to get additional settings, i.e. ammo drops x4 Happy shooting :D I hope Ray plays Origins, he might like that it's more Melee oriented and the story is very related to the first one

One I recommend a lot is Haunting Ground, though it's one with no combat, where you run and hide and I'm not sure he'd like that as much

I was really confused when my twitch notification said silent hill again lol Are you thinking about playing Shattered Memories? That was the wii game (also ps2 I think?) that's a "re-imagining" of the first one. All I remember is that the controls for opening a door with the wiimote were ridiculously complicated and the controls for climbing a fence was only one button. Also there's going to be a super-HD version of Silent Hill 2 coming out. Idk if you want to skip 2 til then (since it's a self contained plot) or not. (edited for readability)

It's amazing to see just how damn hard in this game's grip Ray has gotten. Goes to show that, as incredibly flawed as this game is compared to what came after, there is a damn good reason why it became an instant classic and is still relevant 20 years later.

SH1 has the better controls of the series. I think it's the only game where you can auto-aim, shoot and run by strafing, Ray didn't do it, but it's still awesome, not sure you can even do it in SH2, or at least it wasn't as necessary there
