Thing is - it'll be right next to Cleveland Hopkins Airport. I personally don't see what the big deal is. Plus the players can park their cars at the training facility and ride a bus a couple miles away
@MrMac11387 ай бұрын
@@andreadeamon6419 The FAA will likely not allow much of it. Brook Park also does not have the infrastructure there and the major feeders are all funded by Cleveland or the state of Ohio - so why should Cleveland bother spending money on infrastructure for a stadium not in its limits? The state of Ohio has already indicated they will not contribute. So Brook Park is going to shell out $1 Billion? A city of under 20K is going to pay a Billion for that stadium? Either that or Jimmy thinks Cuyahoga County will do it. He's delusional. The era of massive public funding for these palaces to enrich billionaires is coming to a close and within 2 years Jimmy and his ilk will see their taxes double anyways. They should actually see if the USPS is truly wanting to move from the facility on Orange. That land in Brook Park would make a lot of sense for the Cleveland Post Office and Cleveland could easily annex it if the Federal Government gets it as it would get no property taxes at that point. Put the stadium on Orange, just about 3/4 of a mile from Progressive Field and right next to the Tri-C Red Line stop.

Yes, but not moot until the day after the lease expires. Meaning the Browns could not make any plans ahead of time for moving out of Cleveland without the six month notice. So they would need to find a new place to play in a very short time at a moment when a lot of people are fed up with paying public money for these stadiums.

I hope it doesn't leave the city of Cleveland. I understand a dome could be used more and has advantages but what people don't understand is there is history right there where that stadium sets Jim Brown,Otto,Motley and the list goes on and on. I think football should be a outside sport in my opinion. I have always wanted to attend a Browns game in the snow hopefully that will get to happen. I also think this will hurt businesses in Cleveland and it's not really close to Cleveland it's 14 miles away. No problem! So we'll assume Cleveland has a handfull of adjacent streets downtown to sell to the Haslems for around 50-60M. Then add 2.4B and we get the dome in Cleveland proper. No problem. Oh wait, Cleveland can't currently provide the Browns with a viable option in Cleveland proper so the Modell law WILL NOT hold up in court.
